I'm sure there will be a "suitable replacement" for you, TUBEGURU.

Prepare Zone 1 for the Zone 1 Master Masker...

(I will be running fast but I won't be TOO disappointed if I don't win - after all, there's a lot of competition, most of which is of very high calibre!)

Oh come off it - you want to win just as much as some of the others do :-)

I'd love to win, but I doubt I'm going to.

My personal target is a time under 3hrs. I'll be happy with anything under 3hr20, or if I do reasonably well compared to everyone else if we all take longer.

Who'll post the winner here first? Will it be about 15.30?
What would I know? - I'm from Yorkshire for starters...

I'm certainly not taking my laptop with me :-)

Of course, I could pop into an Internet Cafe on the way back to the PUB.

When all this is done, I expect to see a complete list of all the competitors and their finishing times (a comprehensive results table). I will settle for nothing less. You have been warned.

Oh stop griping :-)

A full report and everything will be posted here on Saturday once I have had the pictures developed to CD (I'm using my SLR in the pub).

So calm yourself and go and check your mask ...

The starting station will, of course, be the same for all of us.

I bet lots of us will finish at Vauxhall for a lot of starts, too...

Observant, Senji! I've been thinking a lot about routes (as I am the obsessed one) and some of them don't end at Vauxhall...

Regarding masks, I have run out! I have one large inflexible mask which I shall be donating to a teammate, but my personal mask has become heavily soiled with about 4 weeks' use. I'll use it anyway, just because it's my trademark, whether or not it's actually doing me any good...

Of course I know you're going to post the results! Didn't I include enough obssessive comments ("I will settle for nothing less, you have been warned") to make it obvious that I was grinning while typing that?!

I'll probably give away my route, as I doubt I'll be using it again!

The elastic on the 9211 is not adjustable.

I'm not posting the results because you demanded me to. I'm posting them because it's a website about the tube challenge and the variations thereof.

And I look forward to typing your name at the bottom of the list

I know that, Sir. I know that you are under no obligation to do anything that I ask (or "tell") you to. I just think that a lot of incessant, light-hearted slave-driving is quite amusing. It may not seem like much of a joke if I do it all the time, but it is a joke. Well, I'm not being entirely serious, at least. I know you don't have the time to update the site all the time; I have a site myself and I certainly don't have the time (can't be bothered) to update that every day or even every time anything interesting happens in the House of Steel.

*Looks back*

Arrgh, of course I was being unreasonable when I said "I expect to see a comprehensive results table". I don't expect to see anything! It will be nice to see the results, but don't think that I'll be annoyed if you put them online a couple of days late.

PS. I know that you, Neil and Geoff have formulated a plan to trip me over or prevent me from getting on a train in order to push me down the results list. I will not stand for it.

(^That was a joke.)

No, we're going to twang the elastic on your mask!

Tee hee.

I would have gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for those meddling world record holders....
