I'm Up For A Chat On The Tube Day 2006

Post by hannah b »

Guess what Friday 17th of November is?

"I'm Up For A Chat On The Tube Day 2006!"

Woo!

The project has been hunted down by a lovely bunch of folk who want to pay for lots of badges and t-shirts for us to run around the tube network giving out and wearing (respectively).

I need your help in thinking what to do with all this.

What should it say on the t-shirts?
How should the exchange occur?
How many people per line?
Should I do it in shifts?

I thought that everyone who wants to get involved would be sent out an official Tube Chat t-shirt (oh yes, rock on) and a certain amount of badges.

We're going to do Z1 and the DLR.
Potentially have badges available from Evening Standard vendors (What other papers are given out by hand?)

It will all be quite well promoted before hand, and I have been promised a fair bit of media interest.

And can anyone think of a catchier name?!

So if I chat to anyone during the day do I have to take my t-shirt off and pass this on to them and then finish the route with my handsome torso exposed

Name suggestion; "Tube Chat Day" Ok so I have nicked 3 words already in the title by this is simple, catchy and to the point....

Will ponder on your other points and see if anything springs to mind.....

Not sure if I can get time off work but will see nearer the time..... :D

May I ask who the lovely group of people are?

If we're going to be distributing within stations or trains, it'd be best to speak to TfL first.

Wait, don't tell me TfL is the answer to the my question!

Sounds good all round, I think a really catchy name would help a lot, but I can't think of anything.

TFL already know about the project and are thinking of backing it alongside Visit London with a view to making London look a happier place for 2012 olympics.

For now we will keep it fairly underground (hehe) and a little guerilla like, but we are of course checking with TFL that we aren't breaking any rules.

The guy who tracked me down is called Stuart, from Chameleon PR. They run a week called Enterprise Insight where they get people to ideas into action. They like the idea that chatting to people on the tube could bring about chance circumstances and new opportunities.

Yeh, maybe Tube Chat Day is best...

hmm... thinking cap.
and yes you do have to wander round topless... woo!

I was thinking about setting up a new political party called "The British Apathy Party", but to be honest I don't reckon anyone'll bother to vote for them.
