A tube running marathon... 42 Z1 stations. A few people I know from MK have done it, on the same day as we were doing the 270 for comic relief!
Seems harder than an actual marathon with all the descending and climbing stairs!

Re: Underround
Erm, 42 arbitrarily selected stations out of 64 in Zone 1? We can get our own 42 stations Underround route for that. In fact, here's a couple.
Here's a good circuit, makes sense and is not so hard:
Marble Arch
Lancaster Gate
Paddington (BCD)
Paddington H&C
Bayswater
Queensway
Notting Hill Gate
HSK
Earl's Court
Gloucester Road
South Ken
Sloane Square
Victoria
St. James's Park
Westminster
Charing Cross
Embankment
Temple
Blackfriars
St. Paul's
Mansion House
Cannon Street
Bank
Monument
Tower Hill
Aldgate East
Aldgate
Liverpool Street
Moorgate
Barbican
Farringdon
KCSP
Euston
Euston Square
Warren Street
GPS
Regent's Park
Baker Street
Marylebone
Edgware Road (Bak)
Edgware Road (CDHC)
Or alternatively, for the masochists who insist on having loads of deep level stations, here's one Z1 tour entirely comprised of them (and the platforms you'd be forced to use, because that's how they seem to do this Underround):
NHG (Cen)
Queensway (Cen)
Lancaster Gate (Cen)
Paddington (Bak)
Edgware Road (Bak)
Marylebone (Bak)
Baker Street (Bak/Jub)
Marble Arch (Cen)
Bond Street (Jub)
Oxford Circus (Vic/Bak)
Regent's Park (Bak)
Warren Street (Nor)
Euston (Vic/Bank branch)
KCSP (Nor, surface via the other ticket hall)
Angel (Nor)
Old Street (Nor)
Moorgate (Nor)
Liverpool Street (Cen)
Bank (DLR, or if not allowed, Nor)
St. Paul's (Cen)
Chancery Lane (Cen)
Holborn (Pic)
Russell Square (Pic)
Goodge Street (Nor)
TCR (Nor)
Covent Garden (Pic)
Leicester Square (Pic)
Charing Cross (down via Bak, up via Nor)
Embankment (any Bak/Nor)
Waterloo (down via Bak, up via Jub)
Southwark (Jub)
Borough (Nor)
Elephant and Castle (down to Nor, up to Bak)
Lambeth North (Bak)
Westminster (Jub)
Piccadilly Circus (Pic)
Green Park (down to Jub, up via Pic)
Hyde Park Korner (Pic)
Knightsbridge (Pic)
South Kensington (Pic)
Gloucester Road (Pic)
Earl's Court (Pic).
