Random 15 Championship 2010/11

Post by Soup Dragon »

The 2010/11 Championship will kick off in August. I will make a seperate post with a poll to decide the most popular date.
After having discussions with several competitors this year the format for this year will be as follows:
There will be 6 rounds, roughly one event every two months.
Each round will take place on a Saturday.
The "Joker" rule with double points will be dropped.
The discard rule remains, that you can only score points from 5 rounds. If you compete in all 6 rounds you must drop your lowest score.
The points scoring will be amended to 12-10-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1, to give more people a chance to pick up points in each round.
Up to three twist rounds will be included, such as London Overground, which has already been discussed.

Any other suggestions are welcome,
Many thanks, The BERC (Bernie Ecclestone of Random15 Championship)
One day I shall return!

The table after round FIVE, 16th April 2011, is as follows:

1. 49 pts Kevin [7]
2. 46 pts Peter [7]
3. 36 pts Tangy [5]
4. 30 pts Al
5. 20 pts James
6. 19 pts Andi
7. 16 pts Joe
8. 12 pts Samantha & Matthew
10. 10 pts Sara & Phil (bogus) Brown
12. 7 pts Antony & Nozza
14. 6 pts Tom
15. 4 pts Richie

Kevin, Peter & Tangy have all taken part in 5 rounds, so will have to discard their [lowest score] if they compete in round 6, so its down to a two horse race between Kev & Pete.

With regards this Saturday, how about a change of pub venue for the darts after? I have just been in the Prince Albert pub in Southwark which has a nice looking dartboard, and is apparently quiet on a Saturday when there is no football on. Is it worth a try?

It is on the corner of Blackfriars Road and Colombo Street, opposite Christ Church of Southwark and approx 3 mins walk from Southwark tube (by turning left out of the exit and walking towards Blackfriars Bridge).

As I've said with previous suggestions, what's the pricing like? Is it a Sam Smiths? At the end of the day, when I know there are pints available in London for £2, I'm loathe to pay anything more.

I believe the stations will be generated on Weds or Thurs and probably a 1230hrs start....

An idea regarding the pub, we could give this one a try for a couple of games / beers and if it is a bit pricey its only a short walk to catch an RV1 towards Tower Bridge where the Anchor Tap is a Smiths pub we have used previously for BDO events
