We are in our final year studying television and Video Production, for our final major project we want to make a documentary of attempting the tube challenge.
Which as you all know is visiting 277 stations, the current record is 17 hours 56 minutes. We need one lucky person or two to attempt this record which we will then make into a documentary.
All expenses will be paid for and if all goes well you will be the new record holder.
If anyone has attempted the challenge before if you could contact me it would be very much appreciated just to get more information or guidence.

If you are interested please contact me

Hi Laura

Your station count and record time are a little bit out of date, the target is now around 17hrs 12mins from memory...

So just out of interest do you have a route planned at all? Another possibility for you filming could be to join us on the mass attempt on comic relief day, Friday 13th March

Unfortunately the comic relief date is too late as got the green light to film in February from the London underground. We go to Southampton University and are looking for presenters or people who have completed or attempted the challenge already to interview on camera. This is our final project so we are taking it very seriously so if you are interested in being on camera and being in a professional made documentary to be published on the internet and also possible channels please get in contact with the contact details
Thank you

Might I suggest that people don't post their phone numbers and email addresses directly onto the forum?

Why not ask people to PM you for the details? Failing that, typing your email address in word format (e.g. billgates AT hotmail DOT com) is usually enough to foil harvesting programs that come looking for email addresses to spam.

Just to check the obvious ...

Presumably the team are aware of the need to register their attempt with GWR and also that two documentaries on the same topic have been made, and shown on ITV, in recent years - see

When i spoke to them they were aware of it and asked if they could film the whole lot i did say that would be a hectic nightmare for them. But did suggest they did what Geoff did and filmed ahead of corridor shots and runs between stations.

You could do like they do on Top Gear - do the challenge without the equipment, then go back a few days later and film various fill in bits.
Holder of the slowest recorded 274 attempt: 4 months, 1 day, 9 hours, 17 minutes, 32 seconds.

talking of editing mistakes i noticed that on Geoff marshall tube 3 the bit where it says we have an 8 min run.The camera goes to a shot of a Northwick Park roundel then back to a shot of them leaving a tube train which mysteriously looks like North Harrow to me then back to a shot which definately is Northwick Park entrance.

Now explain if they did this on a film back why the obvious mistake.

It's entirely possible that the film crew were not satisfied with the footage when they came to post-production and so did some editing.

Either that or, as they only had one film crew they couldn't film them arriving at the station, do a platform shot AND be at the arrival station eight minutes later so a bit of creative editing had to be employed.

Does it really matter?

Not at all Tubeguru, I think that we're making a big fuss over nothing. It's a brilliant documentary.
