If our course was entirely on grass, I'd get some running spikes, but the second half is hard paths, so that's out.palkanetoijala31 wrote:u got lucky little kid slipped hard on ice and the kid who raced me in fell flat on his back at finishing line as welltubeguru wrote:I almost fell over twice. Trail shoes make difference on wet grass muddy paths, but when it gets very muddy doesn't matter what you wear. If it's anything like last year plymvalley won't dry much before April.

At this time of year I'm glad Southsea parkrun is 100% tarmac/concrete. However, the 50% fierce biting headwind on the exposed promenade is less fun.

Re: Tube Challenge parkrun league...
I have taken steps (pun intended) to combat the mud by buying a pair of decent trail shoes. They should at least allow me to run through shallow mud without sliding everywhere as I have done for the last two weekends.

Re: Tube Challenge parkrun league...
A setback! My trail shoes didn't come today, as promised. They buggered the order up, so now I have to run tomorrow in the old Nikes. So no PB for me then ...

so rock on up to Gunnersbury one week Nozza, and it'll do wonders for your time!
(and yes i am aware that that makes me sound like a twat. but people going faster means they're fitter which is a good thing. well done all!)

Well that was very tough going at South Oxhey... All grass 3 lapper and quite muddy at the top of the climb along the side of the course... Pretty sapping on the legs and was a struggle not to walk up the hill on the 3rd lap... Still another ticked off
Well done to the boys at Southwark
