I will be attending this year's events for the first time, after finding out about last's years event after it happened!

I presume the rule about talking buses and National Rail trains between stations still applies this year.

Are we sure that Queensway is going to be open in time for this?

I passed through it yesterday while doing a recon (I was bored) and it didn't look anywhere near ready - still had scaffolding up, tiles missing, no station signs etc.

For the record I came in with a time of 4:02:05 from St James Park to Charing Cross (to give me something to compare time against), although I didn't run at any point, stopped for a McDonalds at Bayswater, and then walked back to Notting Hill Gate to see how far it was. [answer - quite a long way despite the poster on the outside suggesting it was about 1/3rd of the total from Bayswater to NHG] I also had to contend with "minor" delays on the Circle/District line leading to a 10 minute change at Tower Hill instead of being able to get a direct train though to Aldgate/East

Ah well
I've got the 19th off, so I should be down for this now (although I might have to improve my route planning in the meantime)

If anyone is in the slightest interested:
St James > Sloane Square > Aldgate East (via a long wait at TH... grr!) > Aldgate (walk) > KXSP > Bank > TCR > Warren Street > KXSP > Earls Court > Bayswater > McDonalds > NHG (walk) > Oxford Circus > Paddington (BCD) > Paddington (H&C) > Euston Square (with an unexpected change at Edgware Road, why do H&C trains terminate here? why?!?) > Warren Street > Vauxhall > Waterloo > London Bridge > Elephant & Castle > Charing Cross

We have planned visits not only to McDonalds, but Pizza Hut, KFC and Subway(surely the Tube Challengers favourite food outlet, groan!) as well

The poster suggested that walking from Bayswater to Notting Hill Gate was about 1/3rd of the total from Bayswater to Notting Hill Gate?

Do you not mean "1/3rd of the total from *Queensway* to NHG" ?

Or possibly "1/3rd of the total from Bayswater to Hollan Park", perhaps?

Or did you simply mean that it was 3 times as long as the poster suggested?

Queensway does now have roundels (sp?) up, but as A2 said, still doesn't look anywhere near finished!
