Could I just ask people not to post images of the tube map on the site, modified or otherwise. It only results in nasty emails from lawyers. Thanks.

Yes, but the big drawback of this network is that everyone is going to have times within a few seconds of each other. I'm happy to come out of retirement to set the Covent Garden to Leicester Square record if you like though.

Do you know what is the source for the dates when these trains may run, as they do not appear in the Journey Planner?

I can't make the dates in September anyway. End of October, early November looked more promising for me, until I looked at TfL's advanced works calendar, which says the Central Line is closed between Newbury Park and Grange Hill for nearly two weeks from 23 October to 2 November inclusive.

Also, the same works calendar http://www.tfl.gov.uk/livetravelnews/pl ... fault.aspx suggests that there are no closures on Saturday 13 October, yet the C2C website says there are no trains between Barking and Upminster (including the District Line) that day. :?

The dates came from a FOI request at http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/k ... a_services

Thanks. I can't but think that with the minimal publicity they are giving these services (i.e. not even in JP) they will soon withdraw them due to lack of use.

Also on my last two visits to Earls Court I've noticed right at the front end of the platform there is an electronic information board, which supplements the main antiquated next train arrow boards above each platform. This shows the next train from each platform and estimates of time until arrival of the next trains to each destination. However, on both occasions I've observed it, it has failed to acknowledge the existence on the Olympia service, even when it's sitting in the platform.

It's a bit old I know, but I've just come across this internal TfL document released under FoI:
http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/6 ... CT.PDF.pdf

which confirms in Section 3.2 that TfL believe they have a legal obligation to run at least one District Line train per week to or from Olympia, and in Section 5.4 that when the service was amended last December one of the options considered was just running one train a day into service via Olympia throughout the week (i.e. no weekend or exhibition services).

So it looks like the prospect of complete closure is remote, but an even more minimal service is not, which no doubt in their wisdom GWR would still require Olympia to be visited.

Hmmm, it seems like Olympia wasn't even good enough to have a bronze medal winning horse name put in its place! In fact... it has disappeared from this map altogether. TFL practicing the new permanent map design?!

oh dear! That's fairly poor! It is sort-of on the edge of that section though, so could warrant being cut out by not quite fitting in, design-wise...

Maybe they just didn't want to insult any of the medallists by giving them a station which has such a rare service :)

Fair point, but I notice that all of the other bits of line go right up to the edges in terms of what's been included. Interesting spot!
