Why not start the stopwatch at the station entrance? Then people can run in - that would be very amusing and is probably a very bad idea. We could then pick any station, and then pick any entrance if there is more than one.
I don't know if I'm going to be working that day, because I'm between jobs right now! If I do end up working Friday afternoons, wherever I end up working, I'll try and get time off, which might not be so easy considering my then-short service.
On that note I should probably enter alone in case I can't participate and avoid potentially letting down team-mates.
No, don't congregate at a station entrance. LU will notice and put a stop to it. We gathered around the corner at Oxford Circus last year to avoid this sort of thing. They're used to crowds of people going into the Tube all at once but it would be silly for 40 or 50 people to stand around getting in everyone's way, especially at such a busy station as that.
It would be a questionable move if the gathering point was decided as anything other than what it was last year.
Can someone confirm if Oxford Circus is the starting station
This is my first tube challenge attempt and even though only zone 1 I shall probably need a month to plan my route

Oxford Circus MAY INDEED be the GATHERING POINT - but I guess that will be confirmed by PMs to each team and/or presented on the official web page that is in the making... (We all hope!)
The STARTING POINT, however, will be a random Zone 1 station (drawn from a hat at the gathering point). After the drawing all participants will travel together to the the designated starting station. From there, each team select a train of their choice and start their individual clocks accordingly.
As discussions are going the hat will include 62 named stations (including BOTH Paddingtons, BOTH Edgware Roads, but NEITHER Vauxhall NOR St James's Park, since these were used as starting points the two previous Z1 challenges). So you have to be prepared for every possible start station...

Thanks very much for information Hakan, I have no idea what I am getting myself into here but this scenario is very exiting and interesting. I Already have the day booked off work so see you all on 19th May. My team are ready and willing to challenge for the wooden spoon!
ps would appreciate confirmation of gathering point once known....
