Re: Olympia Shuttle
Ah so on that basis a pass through would be okay.
Even so I'm not convinced Ken O is running the 20 minute service, as the leaflet basically says it's shut!

Just noticing that the confirmation re the above that I have relates to the timetable that has just finished - thats not to say that it doesnt apply still.....!moley wrote:Canon Street now opens permanently on a Saturday however due to building and improvement work is currently temporailly closed on Saturdays.

Re: Olympia Shuttle
Heathrow start doesn't work. Believe me, you'll get to Olympia (unless your name is Usain Bolt) 2 minutes late.

Normally routes work better in theory than in practice. I think this may be an example where the opposite applies.

Re: Olympia Shuttle
I've got several routes - both from Amersham and Chesham, that connect up with the evening trains, main problem was not wanting to leave too much slack but then not wanting to miss a very rare train if there was a minor delay at some point beforehand. The Chesham ones are faster but I think I'd do Amersham first so I can post a decent time with a bit of time to spare if the connections don't go right. The 7:31 Chesham start doesn't leave a lot of spare.
The 6:32 train is doable, I've got a route (or the start of one anyway) that gets to it. You will need to run to get to Ken O though (unless you're a fast walker)

Re: Olympia Shuttle
Has anyone done a run invoving the early morning KO trains yet? Would be nice for some confirmation that they ARE running, and to time.

Re: Olympia Shuttle
yes i did get up at actually though at 3.30am to do this i can confirm that i made the 6.32 quite easily.***** wrote:I would agree that a Heathrow start and making the 06.32 is possible, but until someone gets up at 5am and actually goes and tries it for real ... If it works though, then record beating is possible. It's a "guaranteed" Olympia train and you've cut out the 7 minute wait at T4, which are two nice things.
Practical experience always wins over planning on paper and online. You have to get out there and try it out, as has so often been said on this forum before.

Re: Olympia Shuttle
Following 2 disastrous schedules (not helped by Richmond starts
) I will take the plunge and schedule for an evening Olympia train. At least this gives me a good-ish start.

Re: Olympia Shuttle
If you can't crack the Heathrow start (I haven't done anything remarkable, just thought a bit outside of the "tube" box), then how about another start? If you look at the route Andi put together for Myles then that starts at Upminster and gets the 06:32 train
I have scheduled some routes that hit Ken O in the evening but my main concern is that if anything goes wrong then I may not get to it as planned and that's the challenge scuppered. The first route I'm going to try now goes for the 06:32 train.
