Depends on what defines someone as being worthy... Andi... How do you know that this Marc guy is deserving?tubeguru wrote:So as a one-time record holder, I deserve it more than you deserve any of yours?palkanetoijala31 wrote:No i feel as a former 3 time world record holder i dont deserve it this Marc is a 1 time record holder and does deserve it!scrxisi wrote:Did you guys not deserve it then?!

Andi is the self-appointed arbiter of ranking tube challengers in order of skill, technique and worthiness. His word is final. No correspondence will be entered into.Sam wrote:Depends on what defines someone as being worthy... Andi... How do you know that this Marc guy is deserving?

Oh no, does this mean that the ranking table has to be amended? The algorithms will be coming out again nowtubeguru wrote:Andi is the self-appointed arbiter of ranking tube challengers in order of skill, technique and worthiness. His word is final. Re: New World Record Rumours
Agree with what you say above Geoff about it becoming a bit more interesting! Also, just to confirm your assumption about the now ex-record, we were at Heathrow1-2-3 awaiting our train for HT5, but it was running 7 minutes late, hence the irregular finish time of 16h44m.
As for the state of the forum, I'd say it fluctuates and that sometimes there are decent topics/chat on here, other times there is just inane gubbins.

Re: New World Record Rumours
Yes I do believe it is possible to get a 16 hours 17 mins, mainly because I have a 16.29 route with the potential for a 16.17 with a bit of luck!
I'm just the attempt that Matthew, Al and I did on friday went so horrendously wrong, would have been gutting to think we'd broken it if we had come in, in 16.37...

You know went its going wrong is when you send your support (i.e. me!) to the point on the network you need, and they can't do anything to help!

Re: New World Record Rumours
This confirms what I said in my comments at the bottom of page 2 of this thread, as I also did my only completion on this day. I'm not sure about 'quickly' cleared, as the Northern line was fouled up (even away from the High Barnet branch) around 5pm. The main benefit for me on that day was the absence of people during the morning peak, as it was Maundy Thursday. In the first 10 hours or so of my challenge that day (which would never produce a fast time because of my early start) I was beating my most optimistic schedule.***** wrote:
The only two main incidents was a failed northern line train at Finchley Central at 4pm and another defective train, this time on the Jubilee at about 5.45pm But even then, these hold ups were quite quickly cleared.

Re: New World Record Rumours
everybody learns something on every attempt Matt (and now you all have to learn how to beat his time of 16h 29m 57s good luck to all of you) i wonder how long this record will last?
Re: New World Record Rumours
Yes in light of this marvellous time it be hard to keep the current record holder out of the top 25 i have to have some think about it!Steeevooo wrote:Oh no, does this mean that the ranking table has to be amended?
