Re: Zone 1 interchange challenge
I talked to Kevin about this and we agreed that August wouldn't be a good time for this challenge as the weather would likely be too hot. I had originally planned to have this challenge in October but I'm reluctant to arrange anything now is in the next few weeks swine flu is expected to sweep the county. No good arranging anything if no-one is able to take part. So I plan to hold this challenge off for a bit possibly until next year, good to see people are still interested though.

That's it everyone - stay off the tube because Swine flu's going to sweep the country and kill us all.

That was not what I was saying. My point is that if everyone is sick with swine flu at the time as is quite possible then it's pointless arranging the challenge.tubeguru wrote:That's it everyone - stay off the tube because Swine flu's going to sweep the country and kill us all.

I'll try to pencil my swine flu in for October then.

Re: Zone 1 interchange challenge
After checking the engineering work details and discussing the situation with Kevin this challenge is now targetted for 5 December 2009 with 12 and 19 December also available. Meeting for start would be between 2 - 3 PM outside Tower Hill station. I will start work on the official rules.

Re: Zone 1 interchange challenge
According to the list of station closures on TFL's website, Warren Street station will be closed on 5 December. I suspect that interchange will not be allowed here. Of course, the situation may change closer to the time. However, at the moment, 5 December doesn't seem to be a good choice of date for this challenge.Zoe wrote:After checking the engineering work details and discussing the situation with Kevin this challenge is now targetted for 5 December 2009 with 12 and 19 December also available. Thanks, I forgot to look at the stations list. I will slip the targeted date to 12 December then with 19 December also available.mps247 wrote:According to the list of station closures on TFL's website, Warren Street station will be closed on 5 December. Re: Zone 1 interchange challenge
On these days the system will be very busy as they are the last two Saturdays before Christmas. At places like Oxford Circus and TCR it will be very difficult to do any sort of quick interchange.

May be an idea to hold over until 2010 then.

To be honest, people bang on about the Bank/Monument stuff, but isn't Bank/Cannon Street quicker on foot?
