comic relief day 2009
Re: comic relief day 2009
Steven too be blunt we knew that we would be on either 17h02m 17h32m or 18h02m finish without a oystercard incident holding us up at least 20 minutes (at least charlie knows now paper is better) i confidently predict 17h 32m would have been possible that day the aim for any of my attempts is
1. Improve on Gwr the first for all people
2. To have as much fun doing it.
3. If it a charity attempt then to raise as much money possible.
If u wanted to start somewhere else then u should have come in earlier on the route discussion as 3 people have already booked accommodation the credentials speak for themselves a Media team with no ideas of directions slow running speeds managed to stay inside record pace for over 8 hours. If that isnt a good route then i dont know what is.
With a 30 min frequency at the end it was always going to be tight connections somewhere but n harrow wasnt 1 of them when some1 can run in it 5m 14s
Plus u also forgot that tangy was running slower than charlie on most runs due to injury.
On a Happier note Sara is now back in for this even though working at 8am next morning so if at the top it obviously aint going to be a record we might bunk off the last few stations just so i can get her back home for work.

I don't really mind where we start as I can't really lose record wise.palkanetoijala31 wrote: If u wanted to start somewhere else then u should have come in earlier on the route discussion as 3 people have already booked accommodation the credentials speak for themselves a Media team with no ideas of directions slow running speeds managed to stay inside record pace for over 8 hours. If that isnt a good route then i dont know what is.

I don't think it would be wise to change the start now with people booked accommodation now but perhaps some major tweeks to your original route are needed to make the GWR realistic. I don't think as a group of 12 we are going to be particularly fast so I would estimate just under 10 minutes to get everyone between the two stations (especially with it being right at the end of the day) and it certainly isn't realistic to be holding trains up for up to 3 minutes at stations even if you are dressed as an escaped convict. The route the media team ran on I thought was different to yours?? But even if it wasn't, that route surely cannot be on for a record time with a team of 12 with a N. Harrow run like that at the end. But of course the emphasis is on Comic Relief and anything else comes second to that so perhaps it doesn't matter!!!???

I think we should stick with the Heathrow start for this attempt. Whilst it would be nice to get the record the main reason for this attempt is to raise money for Comic Relief.
One day I shall return!

The North Harrow run doesnt have to be done at all and if the team wish i can take it out reasonably easily.

I ran 1K early this morning to see what running in the costume was like & it was not fun.
imho This is a charity run if we get the record even better but its charity first. To get upto 14 people round in costume i think will be hard enough let alone quickly

The Harrow run in 6 minutes is not a possibility for most of that late in the day with aching limbs and the costumes to contend with... It is very tough to do even when fresh early in the day..... There are however ways of avoiding this even with a Heathrow start and Amersham finish.......
But most importantly lets have a fun day

Re: comic relief day 2009
I was planning on getting my ticket the night before but Hatton Cross at 6 works for me. Should be a nice mile and a half walk from the Travelodge to wake/warm me up first thing in the morning!

Are we not going to do further investigation to the group ticket deals?
