Events 2009

Post by Turn 'em Green »

Hello, another boring "Look at me, I'm new and intrested" post I'm afraid.

I was wondering if any events for 2009 have been confirmed (sadly I cannot take the time off work for the Park Challenge). I think I'll need a fair few other events before going for a GWR-type challenge.

What would the feeling be to move to the Saturday after Z1 day? I always find it a bit of rush to get to the starting station and there is very little or no time to meet up afterwards and chat over routes etc.......

I'm hoping to attend a few challenges next year before my Z1 interchange challenge that I am targeting for October 2009. I guess the Z1 May would not be good for a first challenge though, would a R15 be best to start with?

A zone 1 is a perfect challenge to start off with.

Turn up on your own or with friends or pair up with someone random from on here.

I thought the main idea of R15 before Z1 was that most people travelled down (if they were travelling) and thus could take part in the event as they were in London. I suppose it depends if they stay in London the next night as well.

I expect there will be a 4th Children In Need Attempt as well seeing as it was very successful. Its a shame for Zone 1 Hakan doesnt volunteer to team up with someone cos statistically he is the best 2 wins out of 5 but Starkey would also be a good pick.

I think we are going to have to poll the Z1  R15 "tubefest" option and see what the prefered option is..
