In my opinion, it doesnt look like a newer Charles Holden station. It looks more like the older style by him used in Central London stations.

Agreed. I started looking around the West End too (Leicester Square, Piccadilly Cirucs & Oxford Circus all seemed plausible). However, the pattern of rings on the ceiling didn't match any of them.

I really didn't think that this was Grange Hill.

I wasnt sure what station it was, but I guessed Leicester Square. With many stations like that, it was hard to choose one, and I never thought that it would have been Manor House.

This is what I looked at as well, I found Manor House through the fares information litter bin but it didn't look right as apparently now the strip lighting has gone IIRC so that confused me but none of the other stations I thought it was had the pattern of rings.

The picture of Manor House I was working off was from 1932, and from a different angle - but had the circular ceiling pattern and the pillar-bin (can't tell if it was exactly the same pillar-bin or not). The lighting had changed between the two pictures, but that wouldn't surprise me; so had the information provided on the pillar-bin. I don't know the date of the picture in the quiz - one might guess from the sepia appearance, signage, clothing styles and what little can be seen of the posters and overall I'd say seventies, but that might be decades out!

I think I saw the one you did on the LT museum site but I was working off one I saw randomly on some photo upload site which was from about 2 years ago but I couldn't see the strip lighting anymore which confused me.

The ceiling has completely changed since this quiz photo. The circles are still there but it's a less regular pattern, and the lighting is now round lights at the centre of some of the circles. The pillar is still there but it doesn't say it's a bin any more, the signage has changed and there are now loads of CCTV cameras all around the ceiling.

Only Manor House has this arrangement of pillar, newsagent and exit. It was my home station for my third year of university, but at first I must admit I thought the picture was of Piccadilly Circus.
