Unique start and finishing stations

Post by Rhys1995 »

As we have now had well over half a century of official and unofficial FNC attempts, this got me wondering something. How many unique start and finish stations have we had down the years? I know traditionally it's been Chesham starts, T5 finishes or T4 start, Amersham finish but I wonder how many different stations we've all started and finished FNCs at?

I say this as I'm potentially looking at some random places to start FNCs at in the future.

Interesting question. Sadly I don't know the answer. To venture an opinion though, if you're going for alternatives and presumably aren't going for optimum times then I'd be tempted by Walthamstow Central and Snaresbrook or Wanstead.
Held some Alternative Challenge records for a long time.
Doesn't any more.

That's an interesting route! Might have to look at some logistics behind that.

Both I had never considered until now. I did briefly consider a Wanstead start when I was living in London a few years ago, and it may be one I revisit.

I'm eyeing up a Battersea start next year, possibly a Morden start too. With those I'm not as fussed about timings providing you can actually complete it in time.

I'm sure GU will confirm, but I think there have been FNCs from Cannon Street in the past.

I was going to mention this, there have indeed as part of The Cannon Street Run / Talk like a Pirate day events - my planned finishing station was Pimlico but had to abort early due to lost phone with a lot of money in that I thought was Ken Oly...
Some weeks later it turned out I had left it on The Ken Oly train that from memory was terminating Dagenham East as had been handed in at Westminster, money intact as well....
