if you guys [Going Underground, Starkey etc] do go ahead with your 274, for children in need or not, put me down if you need a food drop or anything. I'd be more than happy to help out!

No they wouldn't figure in the team plans....ok lets see how things progress with this BBC date and go from there :D

Thanks Cathryn; that'd be really helpful! We shall let you know nearer the time what's going on.

Kevin, Antony and Jamie, I'll send you each a private message with the route, but feel free to make up your own, and we can then decide whose is best!

Thanks for the kind offer Cathryn, not sure if Starkey is planning a GWR or not here, so I had better start training!

Also if anyone of us has to pull out for whatever reason I am sure the other team members would be more than happy for you to step in and make the 4 up :D

Well if he's going for a GWR, hope he's planning to include Shoreditch thus making it a 275 not 274....

Hi Guys,
Will arrange a meeting for those that are wishing to take part this week to discuss date only reason at the moment is that friday night the tube shuts down earlier, will check this out once again. But a Heathrow finish be better for me also. :D

Will post details of the meeting this evening. meeting will probably be tomorrow or thursday evening as Press Release is due out Friday morning, later than wanted but nevermind.

Cheers all

I suppose we could slip Shoreditch in; it depends upon how the team's feeling on the day, and whether it's "open" at the time of day that we're there! I'm feeling a little cavalier about the whole Shoreditch thing, and so I think we'll only bother with it if we feel like it! :D

Edit (after Matt's simultaneous post): Thanks for being so willing to change plans Matt; it's a great help if you can change the date! Don't worry about the earlier closure of the Tube, because since my team are easily going to break the record, we'll be back well before midnight anyawy.

Well, Shoreditch used to be open only at certain times of the day; I forget exactly when. Now that the station itself has closed, there's a really useful replacement bus service, which very few people use anyway! But of course this bus only runs at the same certain times of the day as the East London line used to.

One of the people on this forum wrote to Guinness World Records and asked if Shoreditch was still part of the challenge. Sadly the answer was yes, and so all proper challenges have to include a trip on the replacement bus service.

However I'm not sure that our team can be bothered to faff around there! We might do though, just for a laugh.

I hope your "cavalier" comment means you are thinking what I am thinking about the Shoreditch situation

Anytime, obviously if your not dashing around full speed ahead you may be able to sort it out yourself but the offer is there :D

It depends. I reckon that this challenge will be like other charity challenges, rather than an intense personal challenge. Here's the difference:

During a personal, let's-really-try-hard-to-break-the-record challenge, obviously Shoreditch would be visited, witnesses would be sought, photos would be taken and everything would be logged.

During a charity attempt, there are lots of teams, and the idea is just to have a laugh, not get all upset when one misses a train like I usually do, and perhaps miss Shoreditch out! It also frees you from the burden of getting train numbers and logging everything.

What do you reckon?
