When to do it?

When would be the best time to do it?
e.g. when there are the least number of stations to cover.

But there is always the same numver of stations to cover.
Except when the network actually changes which is very irregular.

e.g. when the ELL changes and T4+5 open.
In that time when will have the least stations?

Remember.
When the network changes it creates a new record. T5 will make it 276, the loss of shoreditch will make it 275 again - the rest of the ELL will make it 269.
However, when the ELL line closes you then loose the connection between Canada Water and Whitechapel - so is that a benefit?
The challenge is not necessarilly about when the network has the least stations but more about which stations are no longer part of the network. e.g If Chesham and Amersham were cut from the network, many would argue that the challenge is made easier and quicker than loosing the entire ELL.

I would definetly agree losing amersham & chesham would be easier, but the loss of ANY branch line would make it a whole lot easier!!!

Yes Geoff, I know that you've told me this before many times (the carrier pigeon was one step too far though), but you should know by now that I have a deep fear of buses ever since my Dad ran off with a bus driver and gave us kids free bus passes as compensation.

but even if the ELL does leave LU hands, it will still be there to make a connection between can water and whitechapel, you just won't have to do Surrey Quays/New +/New + Gate/Shoreditch when you are makin the connection.
