Some details and photos can be seen on my website.
We started at Amersham and finished at...... somewhere else, having visited all stations in a personal best time. Personally I'm already looking forward to our next challenge but I can't speak for the remainder of the team. Hopefully it will be third time lucky

Yes, I'd be up for a third, but I have a massive route change suggestion this time.

How can you improve on perfection? I though our route was pretty good already

Hi guys,
Just joined!
Did the 275 tube ch. twice last year - both for charity and once zone 1
1st attempt did 251 stations in 18hrs raised £500 but on august 10th - so had a little problem and slow down with security issues at heathrow - not to say the least being stared at running through the stations with a rucksack on and my collegue with a video camera!
2nd attempt on nov 28th for zone 1 on nov 15th with 11yo son who ain't a great fan of running..... took us almost 3hrs but he managed to get himself sponsored for around £40 for school sports equip
3rd attempt on nov 28th raised around £300 but only managed 234 stations as central line was closed from woodford from 1pm. plus MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR problems with oyster card! (which worked fine on previous attempts no problem!) but the new 'swipe in swipe out' system don't work very well! i.e if you forget to swipe in AND out or the card reader doesn't register this then you have to pay the full £4 journey cost.... also if your journey on the tube is LONGER than 2hrs then it automatically thinks you ain't swiped and you get charged again! These fee are NOT part of the daily cap so it ended up costin me around £40 for the day instead of the cap limit of £13.40 or something......... back to the old travel card next time!!!
Want to try again in prob april to try a different route and again in june when i'll be doing a mad-week with others (tube challenge, three peeks challenge and walk from soho to Reading in one week)all to raise money for our llocal charities.
Any offers of help awith routes or on day or joining in are welcome!

interesting that you had problems on august 10th at heathrow. i also did an attempt at around that timen (cant remember the date) and had similar trouble.
i didn't think 3 hours for a zone 1 was too bad, never done it though.

Hi adereading,
welcome to this forum.
Interesting to hear of your previous attempts, and under 3h is very good for a Z1.
Hope to meet you sometime - this year's Z1 challenge perhaps?

Currently being organised a few dates are in mind. Looks like mid to end of May or possibly June 1st......
Keep watching the forum and your organisers will confirm once known

Indeed! It's still a touch too cold for my liking, and today would have been a nightmare for doing any tube challenges...
Watch out in the summer, everyone will have got the challenge bug again and challenges will be proposed regularly! I'll certainly be aiming to participate in at least one!
