Well I must admit to being somewhat excited with just over 1 day to go before my first full challenge. Fingers are firmly crossed for good weather and good service on the day.

For live updates on the day please check this post, I will be texting Ping Pon throughout the day with progress reports. The first update should be around 7 am, with further updates after 3 pm when Ping Pon gets home from school :)

For those of you in the BBC Southern Counites Radio region we should be doing a live interview at either 09:40, 10:10 or 10:40, this depends on mobile phone coverage and other Children in Need events being covered.

Anyone still wishing to donate can do so through the link on my website.

Can't Ping Pon access ICT facilities at school, disgraceful!!! At least some of us in the world of education can sit in our rooms with laptops logged onto the internet switched on all day.

Possibly, but I don't think he is allowed to take his mobile into school, I could always forge a sick note for him so he can bunk off for the day. :D

Only if you write one for me to my boss so I can have the day off and come and join you

BTW don't use the excuse that the family has come down with a touch of bird flu, it's been done before!

All members of the Tubechallenge forum are hereby excused from school/college/work this Friday 17th November due to a very bad outbreak of totalis networkus challengi (latin name for an extremely infectious disease) :D

The response may rhyme with "cluck off" ...

if you instead wrote "totali networki challengus", you might get away with that based on the fact that you got the noun declensions correct :P

I never studied latin so this was a complete guess on my part, but thanks for the correction!

The team are now 10 minutes behind and they are at harrow and wealdstone at 0737 so they are not doing that good at the moment

Sounds like they didn't make the Harrow run in time then...

That would be the logical assumption to make! It does amuse me somewhat that they were doing so fantastically well and were heading for the world record by the time they got to Moor Park, does this mean that 99% of record attempts are fantastically executed up to the Moor Park stage? ;)
