So what you have all been so eagerly waiting for has finally been completed, sorry it took so long!
There will be another site with this on courtesy of dr_chris which will have pictures integrated into the text, but until that is complete, you can visit http://www.freewebs.com/eaststirlingshi ... record.htm for the actual report and a link to the pictures from the day.
Sorry it is just a long block of text but this will be rectified when Chris has it on his site, this is just a temporary hosting place!

Cheers

Sam and Steve

Hoorah! It feels weird being addressed by my real name; Ollie is much preferred!

I'm glad you didn't mention my Morden mishap, too.

I'll let Ollie answer that one and if he doesn't confess all then I will....

I basically got very confused by a dot matrix departure board - thinking that 1, 2, 3 and 4 referred to the platforms of departure rather than the order of departure. So, having run ahead of Sam & Steve and arrived at Morden significantly before them, I walkie-talkied them to tell them to head to platform 3, I think it was. They then got in and queried me, and I assured them we were on the right platform. That was, until we saw a train from Platform 1 leave first. We ended up waiting an extra one or two minutes. Luckily this didn't cost them the record!

Easy mistake to make in the "heat of battle" but PHEW you are a lucky boy and thankfully wasn't too costly in the end

Have you heard anything from Guinness yet about whether this record has been officially ratified?

But Ollie you seemed such an organised person when I saw you! I suppose we all have our moments...
Did I tell you about my Morden mishap?

No we have not had any word from Guinness yet about whether it is official or not, but you know what Guinness are like, it has only been a couple of months!

Please do!

Anyway, we're all perfectly normal and sane people in public! However, we have our little moments... of 19 hour treks around London...

No, you didn't!

I appreciate the compliment, perhaps it's just Morden that does strange things to people.

It's never EVER done strange things to me - I can't remember a single challenge i've ever been on where we've had any problems at Morden.

Then again, maybe we have and been too knackered to notice from dashing around...

Everything seems so much simpler with the benefit of hindsight!
