I think in future we shall have to have a restriction on these questions - perhaps that only three questions can be asked about the number itself?

I'd go further than that. If you don't want to make a mockery of the game, I'd disallow all questions about the number itself except "Is it route <number>?"

You can say the same for the geographical ones which basically involve halving the area of the UK you are looking at over and over again until you are left with a couple of square miles to drill down into.

Less of a quiz, more of an process of elimination.

I didn't intend to kill this game off completely! You can still carry on asking questions. Probably best if there are no more numerical ones though. (I've had my two in a row so someone else needs to go next.)
