Walthamstow Central to Walthamstow Queens Road
Platform to platform what would you estimate would be a minimum running time to allow to make a connection?
I know this varies due to our differing levels of fitness / ability but just really looking for an average time on this......

Re: Walthamstow Central to Walthamstow Queens Road
I've never had to do this one when time has been really tight, but I would have thought it could just about be done platform to platform in 5 minutes. That said, dependent on what time of day you are doing it, in my experience I find catching a train from Queen's Road in the direction of Barking it is often running a minute or two late.

Re: Walthamstow Central to Walthamstow Queens Road
I estimated four minutes. But when I did it for real, I logged it as five. (Though it was probably a mixture of walking/running on the day - I'm no athlete!)

Re: Walthamstow Central to Walthamstow Queens Road
No one better to ask than one who lives there...
Running time between the two, on the times I have done it has been about 4.5- 5.0 minutes on each occasion.
To put in perspective this run is about the same as the one between the two Leytonstone stations, which is a minmum of 4.5 minutes (as I only JUST caught the NLL)!

That, Kev, is the problem! The fence at the end of the car park blocks what would otherwise be a much shorter route between the two.
Held some Alternative Challenge records for a long time.

Re: Walthamstow Central to Walthamstow Queens Road
HAHAHA! That fabled footpath link, currently running 12 years late! Sorry, I will believe it when I finally see the bridge from the NLL station up to Exeter Road being buit.
Oddly, at the NLL station signs have already appeared on the footbridge (albeit covered over) pointing the way to Central over this footpath link. Will it finally be the end of the story?
When this link is open I reckon the transfer between the two (on the surface) could be done in little as 2-3 minutes.
This is what all the fuss is about- http://i489.photobucket.com/albums/rr25 ... encing.jpg the gap between the the end of the footbridge (top of the stairs) and the house the other side of the fence, hardly a great distance!! The rest of it is there ready for use albeit as mentioned fenced off from the Central end!

Re: Walthamstow Central to Walthamstow Queens Road
Sorry, it is my use of the actual franchise name of North London Lines (or Railways [NLR]) which I tend to use (from the former Silverlink Metro days) to describe the London Overground network. Of course, it is rather ironic that the NLR operates the actual NLL (line of that name).tractakid wrote:NLL?! I HHYghly doubt that.
You may have heard me say "there will be an NLL in 4 minutes at Kenton" again this refers to the above. It is such so much easier to say out loud than the full name. Maybe I should have used the GOBLIN descriptor...
