Well, it seems a long time since I joined up here knowing not very much about tube challenging, and now here we are just 6 days away from our first ever full network attempt.
There are 2 teams of 3 taking part in our charity challenge next Thursday. We are starting at Heathrow, finishing at Amersham or Chesham, depending on timings. We are trying to make it a bit competitive so the teams are doing seperate routes that they have kept to themselves. Due to this I won't give away our expected finish time, though it's safe to say we won't be troubling the people at Guinness!
In fact no 1 goal for the day is to get round before everyone goes home for the night! We have a couple of hours contingency in our timings so fingers crossed it doesn't all fall over. Even if we are on for a 20hour+ finish we will if we possibly can. We have donations depending on it!
Fitness levels are 'almost' where they need to be, so we shouldn't keel over on a run! (Famous last words)
We have roped in 2 volunteers, one of them given no choice (she married me so has to suffer the consequences when I decide to do something stupid), so should be able to be kept fed and watered during the day.
If anyone is interested in following how we are doing then we will be using hash-tag #tube12 to tweet our updates as and when we can. I'm hoping the other team will do the same. We will be the UW Team.
Before we go, can I just thank everyone on here who has either directly or indirectly (by posting ideas and experiences) helped us get this sorted. I'm not sure we would have got as far as we have without this forum!
Really not looking forward to doing 3 days work next week beforehand. Hope the boss doesn't expect too much to get done!
