I, a housemate and a friend will be doing Zone 1 tomorrow, dresed in lab coats and T-shirts saying "ED?" proudly on the front.
Look out for us.

Why?

Because they need to be introduced to the Noble Sport.
Also, I haven't done a tube challenge for ages.

Maximum disaster!!
Had a few alright changes, all the way up to the Northern line northbound Charing Cross branch, which was suspended.
Dan (one of the ED?s) sprained his ankle at Aldgate and was questioned by the police!
Never mind. Next time, the Zone One record is mine. And I introduced two more enthusiastic nutters to the Noble Sport.

it's not all bad news...
It's that same suspension that inspired me to write a song this afternoon as potential material for the next
Barry Scott and the Cillit Band EP.
It's called Talkin' 'Bout the Northern Line Blues.
A rather catchy little ditty, if I say so myself...

Northern Line Blues? Sounds a bit
Goodge Street Shuffle to me!

What can I say?
It's a very old fashioned blues song, with a hint of Bob Dylan influence in there. I think.
And yes- our top 8 friends are all very carefully selected to accurately represent our fanbase...

What I meant, you masked fool, is why were you wearing lab coats?

Errr.. well, I always wear a lab coat on Tube Challenges... it's distinctive, visible, light yet provides adequate insulation from the cold. Dan had said he also had a lab coat, and I lent Ed my spare one.
The ED? T-shirts were rather obligatory. They completed the look!

Don't they get the attention of the Anti-Tube Challenge Police?

Yeah, the police did ask Dan what he was doing. Ed and I had already escaped on a train by then; we didn't encounter the police.
We had the usual "Is this the Circle Line pub crawl?" and "are you doing this for charity?".
We actually WILL do this for charity eventually. Make a big day of it, maybe for RAG day, whenever the hell that is.
