Geoff's challenge attempts

Geoff, it's really good to see your website updated again and to read about some of your more recent record attempts. I also found the route of your first attempt quite interesting.
Seeing as the record and network has changed considerably since your initial attempts, will you be putting up some of your other routes? Or do they still contain valuable information?

I would say that any decent route contains stuff that you wouldn't want to divulge.
This is why I find it hard to understand why anyone would want to publish any of their route on the internet. Obviously the "top-left corner start" is fairly routine, and we all know that. But the rest is where it differs between people.

ps. the "others" section of my site now update too with the latest last two record times.
These last two updates seem to have added 5 extra stations back into the network, describing them as 275 station completions.

Get back on the District and go through to Ealing Broadway, change onto the Central Line and go east one stop to West Ealing,
West Acton surely?
Come back up again to Canada Water, and go one west to London Bridge.
Isn't it two west?

Random question for Geoff. On your Tube 12, you finished at T5 at 23:50, leaving out the Richmond branch. Wouldn't it have been possible to take the 00:00 back out of T5 and connect to the (penultimate) Richmond train there?

jbom, yes that was possible. Indeed Geoff, Vicki, Anthony all caught that train back to Acton Town.
Geoff could of changed at Turnham Greenn, caught the penultimate Richmond train down with enough time to then catch the last Richmond train up (it goes to EC) and then caught the very last district of the night home to Ealing Common.
However, the stopwatch operator (me) had booked into the Sofitel at Heathrow 5 for the weekend and would not have been able to get back to Heathrow without using a bus! The stopwatch operator's financee was not willing to wait for him to use the bus......!!!
Ultimatly it had been a team decision - if a record was up for stake then I would have gone to Richmond.

I've done some number crunching - even with the Tube 6 disaster, Geoff has still achieved 96.8% of all of the stations required. He would of (

) done 99.5% of the system had it not been for his one and only abortion.
And for geeks, no Tube 13 would have meant 99.8%.
