The quiz now approaching is the extremely delayed but eagerly awaited Tangy's Rail Brainbenders VI. Your quizmaster has put in lots of thought with this batch of questions, so as they say better late than not at all...

1. What attribute is shared by Woodgrange Park, South Tottenham and Acton Main Line?

2. What was the last diesel locomotive to be ordered by and built for British Rail? (As opposed to the privitised rail system we have today)

3. On a high speed rail route, what does a flashing double yellow aspect signify?

4. What is the only station to have SEVEN different TOCs serving it?

5. On Mon-Fri diagrams, how many East Coast HSTs stable at Aberdeen Clayhills?

6. What is the route number/s of the rail-link bus that provides a link from the nearest railhead to Keswick?

7. What coach letter is the First Class quiet coach on a Pendolino?

8. How much longer is a class 172 coach to a class 150/1 coach? **Answer in metres to within a quarter of a metre**

9. What is the official name for the structure that carries the West London line over the Thames?

0. Upon arrival at Swansea with the 0150 from Fishguard Harbour on Mon- Sat, the unit then works forward to...?

You have until 20:00 on Saturday 30th October to submit your answers (by PM only, so you don't spoil the quiz for others). Let the quizzing commence...

This has now finished, so when can I expect results to be published?

EDIT: What's the point in expiry dates if they don't get stuck to? This is a farce, I will be boycotting any future quizzes that Tangy publishes be it rail benders or photos.

Errm, surely the point of an expiry date is that any answers submitted subsequent to that date/time will not be counted, which is what I assume Tangy is doing, not that the answers must be published exactly at that expiry date? Or am I missing the point?

Well what hasn't been made public is despite having two weeks to submit an answer, tangy has given Matthew until midnight tonight...

Time for the quizmaster to step in here.

Right, this has gone too far now... I hold the bus for one person to jump on and now you are all jumping on. This has to stop. The absolute deadline for this quiz will be MIDNIGHT TONIGHT, but since this is over the original deadline anyone entering the quiz tonight will only receive HALF points (as a penalty for not being on time).

From the next quiz the expiry date/time will be STRICTLY adhered to with late entries not being accepted at all. I do accept that we all have jobs to go to and cannot be at our computers all the time but I believe that two weeks is plenty to research and submit your answers.

If you want to play to the letter, then we will!

Just out of interest, if one submitted answers twice, are the scores accumulative?

I think a sensible course of action might be for Tangy to remind us to enter at periodic intervals, and again on the day the quiz closes. I'm sure too many people forget to enter who would otherwise have done if they'd been reminded.
