Xmas Park Challenge 2009

Just want to check everyones thoughts on the annual Park Challenge that is normally held the week before Christmas.
The initial plan is to start at Elm Park again unless there are too many objections as unfortuantely we had to abort from this starting station last year.
I know that when discussed at the pub after the Summer Olympics when going through possible event for the Winter Games this one was certainly thrown into the hat

Oh! I was hoping for a date the week after Christmas (either 29 or 30 December) so that I could make it... I think I put this down in a previous thread somewhere. Of course, the disadvantage with these two dates is that there is engineering work between Stonebridge Park and Queen's Park. The advantage is that more people will probably be able to make it (myself included) as it falls within the Christmas holiday period. Another "advantage" is that it would give us an excuse to start somewhere a little unusual (either Stonebridge Park or Queen's Park) instead of at an extremity of an underground line.
Well, that's my opinion. Don't know if anybody else agrees with me...

Well Hassan the way the voting is going at the moment it looks as though this Years Park Challenge could well be moved to The Winter Olympics (assuming the TOSA has no objections)
In which case we can probably schedule your end of year "Countryside challenge" during / near Christmas?
I think we should let the poll run for a couple of weeks and then if this is the case then you can step in and organise your suggested challenge.... All you need now is an administrative name like TOSA(Tube Olympics), BERC(R15's), SOD(Snake).... any ideas

a lurker's two cents,
I was hoping to make a brief return to challenging for this over xmas. I think i was the one who suggested the park challenge for the winter olympics, but i don't think that you should cancel the now traditional xmas park challenge, just because it's being done again a couple of months later. We didn't cancel the annual Z1C day in '08 because we did it in the (summer) tube olympics.
i really like the park challenge, it offers something different to all the others because of the photo rule, plus i'd actually like to complete one!

Not that I'm taking part, statistics from my previous participations suggest it's not the challenge for me...
Are you changing it FROM opton 2 or 3? That's not to say there "wont" be a Park Challenge at the Winter games as well

My vote is currently "move it to olympics"
Right so that makes the poll 4 3 2 and not 3 4 2 as shown

It is my right as the incumbent tube personality of the year
Changed GU, edit back if you wish!
Talking of which, Andi is it time for the 2009 voting for this prestigious award

Not sure about the "Coutnryside" Challenge, as I'm not sure all that many people are interested. Of course, should we decide for the Park Challenge be scheduled before Christmas or during the Tube Olympics, we could always do Points of the Compass the following week (it hasn't been attempted for over two years so it's probably about time to have another go at it). Let's see how the vote goes - no rush.
