Pi is a completely irrational number. Theoretically every number sequence is contained with the endless string of numbers.

For example: "162913" occurs at position 1,605,298 counting from the first digit after the decimal point. The 3. is not counted.

The string and surrounding digits:

98364534865952183630 "162913" 30051830834199170792

Even that is not quite true. I think that 0.1100010000000000000000010... (there's a 1 in the 1!, 2!, 3!, 4!, 5!,... position) is irrational. But the string 54887 is not contained anywhere in this number.

Ferhat Abbas was born in 1899, but he did not play golf thrice after cheese-eating.

So you would say that pi would be better described as having no patten?
i.e. the proceeding number/sequence has no relationship to the next number/sequence

Pi is a transcendental number.

A "normal" number is one in which each possible subsequence of digits is equally likely to occur. Pi is believed to be normal but this has not been proved.

Well, yes, broadly. However, the number 0.123456789101112131415... is irrational (even transcendental), even though it has a nice pattern. The best way of characterising a rational is that either its decimal expansion eventually stops (like 0.665) or its decimal expansion eventually recurs (like 0.3565178178178178...).
