Well Mr Fox took on Penrose today and now holds the course Record for a fox. Went round in a leisurely 30:40. The last Km at Penrose is now very slippery struggling to stay upright in new trail shoes.

Plym Valley next Friday then Penrose Saturday.

This is now fixed. Hooray!

A classic windy Southsea run this morning. A slow time, even though I think the course was set about 40 metres short - i.e. the halfway cone was in the wrong place.

I'm now considering Hove Promenade/Brighton & Hove for New Year's Day.

See you there - the alternative course is still in use.

Excellent do you need trail shoes for it.

No. You start by the coffee van gate, run up onto the canal path as usual (as if you'd just come out of the meadow), up "the hill", and then turn LEFT along the cycle path, round a post some way up, then ALL the way back down to the down slope, as on the usual course. At the bottom of that turn RIGHT onto the canal path again, and repeat. The finish is then just past the down slope, before the railway line starts. So the only muddy bit is going to be the canal path, but you know how that usually is.

Two runs for me so far over the festive season
Xmas Day @ Preston Park 23:43
Boxing Day @ Brighton & Hove 23:29
Legs feeling it now but worth the effort, pleased with these times given my lack of training recently.

I did 0 runs and one run direct. Still yet to do a Christmas day parkrun, because, well, it's Christmas day.

OK, spreadsheet is updated, and there's been quite a lot going on.

dudey did the fastest time again, but has slipped to a slovenly 21:30. He needs to sort his ideas out.

As I was away for Christmas, I did some touristing at Chipping Sodbury, and managed an OK time. It would have been faster but there was a vicious headwind on the return straight, and you run along that bit three times. I was overtaken at the end by a man in a kilt, which has never happened before.

People doing runs on both days were Soup Dragon, scrxixi, DrainBrain, and Going Underground. Scrxisi equalled his course best at Valentine's, and GU improved his best finishing position at Old Deer Park, thanks to not many people wanting to go for a run before their Christmas dinner!

I'll be doing two runs next weekend - one at home, and then maybe a nearby one. Probably not Exeter, as I've done that one already. Tamar Lakes looks good so long as it's actually taking place on the Saturday, but it's an hour's drive away.

Anyway, here it is: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing

Head winds are one thing but try a parkrun in this. It nearly killed me.
