Umm, I'm new to all this running around the tube lark, so forgive my ignorance. I haven't got a team; do I need to be in one? I presume that all the relevant rules and regulations will be put somewhere prominent for us to read?

The Rules of Zone 1 Challenging

[insert that bloody Fight Club pun here, and feel smug about it]

1. No cheating.
2. Participants may complete the challenge alone, or in a team.
3. The starting time will be the moment the doors close at the starting station (to be picked at random on the day).
4. The finishing time will be the moment at which the doors are fully opened at the finishing station.
5. The winning team shall be the team that wins.

How do you know about fight club?

It is worth noting that the point of this event is to have fun, and that it doesn't really matter whether you win or not. Be honest.

Also to be added:

6. Both Paddingtons and both Edgware Roads must be visited - 64 stations in all.

Will start stations be limited to same set of 34 (33 + Queensway) as last year?

Or should all 64 stations be in the hat?

Hmm... the reason for the single-line-starting-stations-only thing was so that Jeck could start everyone easily, which would not be AS possible using every station.

One way around this would be to draw a particular platform out of a hat, start the clocks officially when the first train departs from that platform, whereupon anyone not taking that train would begin running to the platform of their choice.

It would appear my erstwhile partner is buggering off and leaving me on my own :-)

So I'll do it on my own I think.

You're more than welcome to join me and Andrew...!

Anyway, I never really saw the point of Jack setting off the stopwatch, especially given that he wasnt able to be there at the end for anybody..

I think picking out any station (bar St. James's Park and Vauxhall) from the hat is just as acceptable a method.

You have control, Professwell.

I'll second Geoff's comment about hurrying up with the website!

I'm fine with going on my own. I've never done a tube challenge on my own before so it will be a novelty.

ROFL!

I've got visions of a bloke standing at a station, shouting "Ready, steady, GO!", starting the stopwatch as the crowds of Zone1ers jumped onto their respective tube trains, then having a little chuckle to himself as he stopped the stopwatch and pissed off home, or back to work, or whatever.

He didn't start the stopwatch exactly, he just made sure everyone got away on the right trains from the right station.
