We have several F1 world champions as members on here. The only reason you have no idea who they are is because they sent me an email asking me to keep it quiet.

And I have joined Pick 6 but I can't be bothered to list them, suffice it to say that I've gone for Alanso the Hamster to win.

The BBC has its usual classic GP highlights on its F1 site. I love the way that before everything was handled by satellite, the commentary was conveyed to the UK by phone lines. In fact I remember watching the 1989 Portuguese GP with Murray Walker, even by that stage, still sounding like he was standing in a phone booth somewhere. Them were the days.

Good old Murray:

"But Pironi thus far ... seems to be avoiding that problem, and he's going on his way without any trouble at all. NO HE'S NOT! AS I SAY IT DIDIER PIRONI SLOWS UP AND COMES INTO THE PITS! Well, my goodness, it pays never to make a prophecy."

Classic.

The scoring system is interesting, in that a one-place discrepancy within the top 10 costs 7 points, but a one-place discrepancy from 10th to 11th costs a whole 25. I would have got 25 more points if Kubica had finished one place higher (and so I was sort of hoping for a Liuzzi/Barichello failure in the last few laps).

Pretty close amongst the group though, only three points separating first (greatkingrat) and fourth (me).

My latest predictions (I'm still happy to share them):

F.Alonso;F.Massa;M.Webber;S.Vettel;L.Hamilton;N.Rosberg;M.Schumacher;J.Button;A.Sutil;R.Barrichello

I fancy Ferrari to dominate again, with Webber getting on the podium at his home grand prix.

Perhaps this thread could be renamed "Formula 1 discussion"?

Are the results actually confirmed then? Just that according to the results email that I got, I apparently got 25 points for putting Mark Webber in 3rd? :/ I haven't actually calculated what I think I should have got though...

They've sent out an e mail saying that the first set of results were an error and it has now been updated.
