ok its not as good as a live broadcast on tv and the sound wouldnt be in sync but its pretty good. And to say it isnt legit is the same argument that this pub was doing satellite games of premership clubs from a greek company for a lot less money than sky same game but overinflated prices from sky trying to bully the small people.Root wrote:You just keep telling yourself that.palkanetoijala31 wrote:The stream i use is sopcast is free legal and perfectly legit
Except the video quality will be terrible and the sound won't be in sync. In my experience.palkanetoijala31 wrote:stick the commentary of radio 5 live on through headphones and u wont notice the differance

Re: 2012 Formula One Season
The difference there is that the Greek broadcaster had paid for the rights to show those football matches, so the pub landlady had the right, under EU law, to pay them in exchange for their coverage. With Sopcast, you are watching a stream that someone else is providing directly from the TV coverage in their country (and if it's Russia, it's not even in the EU), without the broadcaster's consent, and without paying for it. Even if something is free-to-air in one country, it doesn't mean that it is free for everyone, as broadcasters can change their prices for different markets. The BBC show Top Gear for free, or for the cost of the license fee, I should say, but they then make a huge profit on it when they sell it to just about every other country in the world.
I was watching with a stream too, I just don't pretend that it's all perfectly legal.

ah i see its a moral thing ok i just pretend that Tony Blair never did anything illegal when he was pm like make more stupid laws than any prime minister to benefit his wife the lawyer!.Root wrote:The difference there is that the Greek broadcaster had paid for the rights to show those football matches, so the pub landlady had the right, under EU law, to pay them in exchange for their coverage. I think Andi is in urban myth territory now. Everyone knows how laws are passed in this country, and it's not just because the PM says so!

I'm sure you're correct, but... does it really bother you? In 24 years (minus a little bit at the beginning when I wasn't so good with words) I have never heard anyone make an issue of it before. "For free" has been in colloquial use since at least 1900, as far as I can tell from a quick search. That's good enough for me, especially for use on a forum like this where there aren't any pedants informal conversation is fine.

Yeah ... I don't know why it bothers me actually! It shouldn't, really.

Reminder: the Malaysian GP deadline is in the wee hours of tomorrow morning. Many of you have existing picks that are valid for Malaysia as well, but a few don't. The link is the same as before.

Yes they will. The set of picks you submitted earlier covered the whole season.

Re: 2012 Formula One Season
That was exciting, wasn't it? Unpredictable, at least. Such a shame Pérez couldn't take the victory though.
The unpredictability is reflected in our scores. The mean, at 84, is lower than at any point since I started running this competition. The winner this time was hopeful traveller, with 109 points. Garion keeps the overall lead.
There's a rather annoying three-week break until the Chinese GP now.

Very exciting. The thunder and lightning was amazing too!
There were lots of good drives on a very challenging and changing track.
