Personally, I'd suggest May for a strategical reason.

It allows time for Queensway to re-open.

Maybe the first friday after it does?

I woldn't mind Friday the 19:th (of May) - as close a possible to last year's successful event!

(Also my birthday - a very good excuse for a weekend in London).

May 11:th thru 14:th are impossible dates for us (me and Patrick), which means we can't defend our title if any of these dates are chosen.

We still opt for May 19:th. After Queensway reopening IS a good idea!

I concur, but last year I turned up only because I didn't have an exam on that particular day. That was due to luck. I had one the previous day!

This year, I have about 6 exams instead of 4, meaning that during May I will have virtually no time for anything else.

I think having it just after the opening of Queensway is a good option. Also good for me as I can make it in early to mid May - can't make it if it too late in May as I will be gone from UK - damn visa expires!

okay,

Mr. dustmask, can you please tell us all exact dates of your exams. This will make it easyer for us to set the date.

I need to know the exact date alteast 8 weeks infront so I can take a fiew days off. And I will be able to get the cheapest Eurostar tickets then.

I know this has mentioned elsewhere, but don't forget that Regents Park station (which is quite a useful station for the Zone 1 Challenge) closes for 6 months (or more ?) from June 2006.

Do I remember you condemning school holidays for some reason (passenger increase or something)?
If so, ignore this post but, if not, 29th May to 2nd June would be a good time for it. It would also dodge the Lancaster Gate closure I think.

i seem to remember you condemning someone for asking the 2005 challenge to be postponed to the school holidays...

the very first zone 1 challenge happened during school holidays and we didn't encounter any problems, asides from knocking over a few tourists...

question is, are the school holidays the best time this year, because regents park will probably be closed...

Half Term Would be even madder than summer holidays- at least in the summer traffics spread out over 6 weeks.
How about the next or previous weeks?>

As well as going to the pub this year, who's up for a Tube Challenge club night? We get a venue, preferably free of charge, though I'm not going to elaborate on that because I can't think of everything. DJs playing the hits of the Tube and related music, somehow bringing the Tube Challenge into a venue and trying to do it when drunk, etc. Could be good...
