Ah, in that case I shan't be able to make it. The last train back to Bath leaves at 11:35pm, and that's cutting it too fine.
Edit (at 7:37pm): See my post a little way down.

I should be able to make it! Though is it 100% a Monument meetup at 7ish? I wouldn't want to get confused and end up missing it.

I might be able to make it, will need to see what Mrs editorsfoot has planned for Friday night, and see if I can get up to Victoria if I have to come up by train.

I can now make it! I'm going back to Bath on the Saturday afternoon now, because Yeading FC are playing Fisher Athletic at home, an unmissable match.

Can we count on the presence of your pilot friend this time?

I believe he may be working so I'm afraid I might be flying solo. However, if he isn't I will be blackmailing him into accompanying me

Looks like I should be able to make it if I get away from work on time, and get a train up from Medway, Mrs editorsfoot needs the car so I won't be able to park up at North Greenwich. Hope to see you guys Friday night.

Well it looks as though there'll be quite a crowd; by my calculations there'll be nine of us, contingent on which combination of Browns there is!

Failing that I think Dr Who will be accompanying Soup Dragon in which case you are more than welcome to join up with me...We can sort this on the night anyway..

I reckon there will 3 Browns I don't think ping pon is around and not sure about K9.......
The most important thing is getting hold of 43019 to see if he agrees that a starting station can be nominated beforehand...as per my earlier post.... I don't think picking a starting station on the night will allow us to start much before 2030hrs which probably means we have no chance of meeting up afterwards as the challenge itself won't finish much before midnight...
I think is only fair that 43019 is ok with this and nominates the station if he is in agreement, but as we are meeting at Monument, hmmm interesting I wonder..

I thank you for the offer, might take you up on it.
a starting station would be pretty good, just for efficiency. the tube only stays open so long! have to make time for those of us who straggle in at the end.

Going Underground wrote:edit: Just a thought on this you mention a swift start at 1930 hrs but depending on where the starting station is drawn, then allowing for travelling time to get there and 30 mins for route planning this probably won't start until 2030hrs which is getting late...
I find in my experience is is better to nominate a starting station for evening Z1's but hey it's your event
Would tend to agree with GU, for a 1930 start we need to nominate a station, given that Z1 can take upto 3.30, this would mean finishing at around 23.00, so if you draw a starting station we might run out of time.
All being well on Friday I should be able to join you as well.

By the way I think at least myself and 2 others are almost certainly going to be able to make this

Hi guys!
Good thing I decided to ensure I stayed online long enough for checking this forum tonight! I've read everyone's posts, I must say I'm glad to see there will be a good turnout! Can't wait to meet everyone!
I do agree now with everyone's thoughts, a randomly chosen station would not work out well!
tangy and I have agreed on starting at...*Drum roll*...
Cannon Street.
We are meeting at 1900 at the monument outside Monument station exit. The sooner you arrive, the better really.
It's time to get those routes planned guys and girls! I'll be online tomorrow again now to check things, then after that it'll be Friday! See you all then!

The reasoning behind our joint decision of Cannon Street is that we all know it's weekday closing time of 2100. Therefore, starting there means we will get the pesky station out of the way at the beginning without risking a possible pass through if our planning all goes down the Drain!
Looking at the thread so far I can deduce the following attendees:
--Myself (Tangy)
--43019
--Going Underground
--Starkey
--Dr Who
--Soup Dragon
--Editorsfoot
--Londongirl
If I have missed anyone out, I am sorry.
Meeting time is 1900 please, (1910 latest) at The Monument, if you miss us there the challenge will be starting at 1930 at Cannon Street.
Hoping to beat me persoanl best of 03:00:14
