Not during the race, only during the build up.

It was hugely annoying. Especially when the last few laps of a Grand Prix are exciting... http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/media/news/ ... break.html

Sky is beating BBC hands down at the moment. I switched over to Sky for the Malaysian GP and for anyone other than the casual onlooker it has to be the superior coverage. Still doesn't top the BBC's showing in 2011 though which has to be the sweet spot of F1 coverage in recent times?

Personally I thought that they had two new commentators there, Martin Brundle was hopeless at lead commentary.

Brundle isn't cut out to be a lead commentator. His role has always been of the man looking between the lines to find the real stories.

I thought DC did a better job at the secondary commentary role when he was with Brundle purely for the fact his experience of F1 driving was more up to date. I remember a number of times where Brundle would speculate on a technical aspect of the race and DC would end up correcting him. Unfortunately the BBC seem to be appealing more to the general masses as opposed to the more avid fans and so a lot of this more technical chat has now disappeared completely.

I understand where your coming from maybe an enthusiasm perspective with Brundle, he obviously was not as lively as say Legard but I thought he was a bit too much anyway. His partnership with Croft at the moment seems to work pretty well and I was so glad to see Brundle back on the grid walk, DC really is no match there.

I now have a link to the BBC version of their Teddish mocking in this post.

Progress thread updated with Lewis Hamilton's five-place grid penalty in Bahrain, for changing his gearbox before qualifying.

Hmmm. Having said that, the original question did state "for driving infringements". Although Mercedes are technically "infringing" the rules by changing the gearbox on Hamilton's car, it can't really be said that this penalty is for a driving infringement.

Does anyone have any objections to me including ALL penalties incurred by drivers throughout the season, just to make it easier to keep count?

As no one has raised any objections to the above, ALL penalties incurred by any driver will count towards this stat.

Including Webber's reprimand?

Oh, can the Grosjean category be decided for his move on Pérez here? Contact was made (according to the BBC), and Grosjean arrived with far too much speed into T1.

Which Webber reprimand are you referring to?

As for Grosjean, you're pushing your luck again. Did Perez suffer substantial damage or retire following the "incident"?

I don't think he's referring to that incident ...
