I have read the article.

Bernie, then president of what is now FOTA, at the request of Colin Chapman, who threatened to withdraw from F1 if the situation wasn't improved, pulled the plug on it.

Another brilliant piece of irony - the man who did more for introducing revolutionary concepts into F1 complaining when someone out-thinks him.

tubeguru wrote:I suggest you get the book in question - it's the story of how Renault used a loophole in the regulations to introduce turbos in 1977, leading to their widespread use up to 1988, when the McLaren MP4/4 used them to achieve levels of dominance that Red Bull can only dream of.
I do have a great F1 book looking at its whole history (up to the mid-2000s), with a section on unusual cars, which is where I read about the Brabham in question. It's in England though, and apparently my memory of it isn't so great.

Another irony is Bernie Ecclestone "deferring with good grace" and working in the interest of the teams!

When we die, Christians believe we meet our maker. In my case, God, In James Allen's case, God knows.

He was more interested in telling Jenson Button's life story than describing the Hamilton/Vettel battle for second place. He didn't mention that Bruno Senna went flying.

All because of my dad.

Seriously, HT, just find a stream of the Sky coverage. It's not that hard.

Anyway, I missed the live race by accident, and avoided the results until I could watch a re-run, which I know have. Sorry for the delay in publishing the scores. Great win for Jenson. As I predicted, Red Bull and McLaren are slightly ahead of everyone else. Mercedes will be disappointed though, as they had a chance to mix things up. Lots of interesting battles down the track, too, including a brilliant scramble right at the line for the lower points positions - sixth through eleventh were covered by just 3.1 seconds at the end.

Well done to Garion, who takes an early lead in the predictions game after scoring 154 points. Really pleasing for me is that there are 14 players taking part, well up on the eight who took part in the first round last year. There are a few who aren't on this forum, but only one I don't recognise; does anyone know who Peter is?

On to Malaysia for the next round, which is already next weekend. The entries deadline is 02:00 on Friday, UK time, so I suggest you get your entries in by the end of Thursday.

In that case, get your dad to break the law himself (in a minor way, of course) and then use it as a bargaining chip if he ever catches you streaming it.

Presumably he drives a car - does he ever exceed the speed limit, on the motorway for example? He might say "everyone does it", but you could use the same argument to defend your streaming :)

You just keep telling yourself that.

Except the video quality will be terrible and the sound won't be in sync. In my experience.
