I met up with Das and Andi at East Grinstead for a really twisty but fun course. Andi was tail walking with someone who eventually came in around 85 minutes. I was mainly walking but managed around half that even though I was only a few places ahead. Definitely recommemded!

Actually it was 89 mins I left him on 2nd lap only person on that lap to attend a running 1h 01m 05s but kudos to Tim got round it all counts mate.

This Weeks Highlights
Sam made her first run in almost two years, she sets the benchmark at Gloucester City in 45:22, and sets a PB for 214th place
Das takes the honours of three running at East Grinstead, setting the benchmark at 35:07, finishing in 79th a SB.
scrxisi sets the benchmark at Hay Lodge in 30:40
Soup Dragon is the first to run at Uckfield, the time to beat is 21:05, gaining a top ten finishing in 5th.
tpfkar sets a SB at Milton Keynes in 23:56, with 97th being his best finish of the season as well.
Nozzacook sets a CB at Heartlands in 24:30, also setting a SB finish of 19th place.

No medals changed hands, but East Grinstead has it's first medal winners.
Das takes Gold, Iain takes Silver and as Tail Walker Andi takes Bronze.

Soup Dragon is now included and Das is the biggest riser up from 1419 to 1212.
Andi would be slightly higher, had his result at East Brighton not been messed up.

Never thought I would run anywhere then Bedfont Lakes when I started my parkrun adventure - I had no inclination this was going to happen

Never thought I would run anywhere then Bedfont Lakes when I started my parkrun adventure - I had no inclination this was going to happen

When I started didn’t even have a parkrun in Cornwall. Nearest was Plymouth 90+ miles away.

Yep it's a global monster now and I only made my first visit to another venue (Osterley) when Bedfont was closed for a week...
Even when Lanhydrock became the first parkrun in Cornwall I only visited to get a run in that Saturday as I was on holiday, I didn't class is as "touring"

When I started there was just Bushy

When I started badgered by a certain jesus looking tube challenger god forbid did I think I be top 90 in only 3 years

Quick trip up the Thameslink today to Luton, Wardown. A three and a half lapper and a lake with a fountain (as has Raphael fountain fans). Plus a bloke with a massive speaker in a baby buggy, playing a mix of tracks including what to my untrained ear was gangsta rap and Hotel California. Great fun!

Just 10 of us running this Saturday in near perfect conditions (well at least on the south coast).

Soup Dragon sets a new PB at Littlehampton Prom in a time of 19:46, another top ten, finishing 5th this week.
tpfkar runs another SB at Milton Keynes, lowering his time to 23:51
Two runners managed SB at Lancing Beach Green,
DrainBrain set a time of 26:47 and Jamesthegill ran in 27:53
Going Underground completes a hatrick at Hanworth and a new SB of 33:30
MarcG makes his first run of the season 21:24 at Tooting Common.

Teignmouth promenade is a good course if slightly narrow when u get to the back markers you got to pick ur spot to not catch them up. The turning point is brutal u lose all momentum and that costs u seconds note to self buy yourself a ******* watch.

A relative lie in for me this morning before a trip to Bethlem. I hadn't realised the name was the origin of the name Bedlam, and how long the hospital had existed (albeit at previous locations). It's believed to be the first parkrun on NHS property, and we were warned to be careful we didn't include patients (sorry, service users) in any pictures.

Google maps advised the 194 bus from Croydon, but this takes a rather torturous route near the run site, and the 119 back was way quicker. The run is a fair way from the main road, so allow lots of time. It's a hidden gem though - essentially a figure of eight done twice around a couple of fields, but with lovely scenery and what looked like a great cafe. There are some very minor slopes but it's not far off flat.
