27:55 (51.58%) at Southsea yesterday. Surprised I could even move for the R15.

Also, second largest turnout ever at Southsea, beaten only by the inaugural run.

Excellent stuff.

I know I didn't run at parkrun, but Saturday was the freshest I have felt after a full network. The first few times I did one I was completely wiped out the next day. I think I can only have parkrun to thank for the improvement!

Out of interest (and this is another very dodgy comparison), today at CrossFit we ran a total of 5.8k over a series of runs with rests between them. The format was:

1 mile, 800m, 400m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1 mile.

I did them all in a total of 28:28. The mile course starts off steep uphill for the first 700m, before dropping down gently back to the start. I wonder what my 5k time would be based on this highly scientific analysis ... and a flatter, softer course.

Once I've done some more running I may go and investigate my local Parkrun. It's in some nice woods somewhere ...

No reason why you couldn't start doing parkrun now. The point of parkrun is to get people into running of all abilities :-)

I've got no choice but to like running now I find myself doing it a couple of times a week on average. I only didn't like it before because I didn't have to do it!
