It's not ideal nor necessarily perfect, but one way to get an idea of when exhibition services may be running is to look at the Olympia Halls website and note when there is an exhibition using Olympia Grand Hall (i.e. a biggie). If you can then find that exhibition's own website it sometimes confirms what days the service will be running - e.g. the Toy Fair in a couple of weeks will have the service for two out of the three days it is on (I've no idea why it is not all three days).

This page has links to a lot of the event web sites

http://www.eco.co.uk/events/

When it refers to "First train" is that in addition to the ones around 6am? i.e. are the trains on non-big event days still running?

Looks like the service is running from today through to Friday (http://bettshow.com/bett/website/travel ... d=mainLnk5) as well if anyone fancies an attempt at short notice!

Cheers Tangy - looks good :D

What do the SuO, SO and SSuX bits mean? Are the SuO and SO the overground service?

Sorry, the days are in usual NR timetable parlance which you may not understand.

SSuX: Saturday and Sunday eXcepted- i.e Monday- Friday.

SO: Saturday Only

SuO: Sunday Only

This system is used, rather than saying Mon-Fri because (mostly) freight trains do not run every day, so a train running Mon, Wed & Fri only would be listed as MWFO, or a train running every day bar Friday would be listed as FX (Friday excepted).

People may also see Monday-Friday written as SX (Saturday excepted). Sunday is not mentioned in this acronym, because generally Sunday is not merged with any other day. So Su is Sunday, SO is Saturday and SX is non-weekend.

The expo in the Grand Hall idea seems a fairly good indicator, but it shouldn't be that hard.

The two times I've been on one of the early morning services (that run every day) I think I/we have been the only people on it. I do wonder how many of those run empty

Anyone what to take bets on how long the Olympia service runs? I bet the shuttle will close within 3 years.

I agree - I think it's possible they might have a period when they only run a service on big expo days (or perhaps just the evemimg trains on a non big expo day), which would make a full network run trickier - at least now you can go for an early KenO train from Heathrow

I don't see MHE being closed. The only thing they might do is make it a shuttle service all day including the peaks
