Don't take this as offensive, but why don't you think up something original to do, the monopoly on the tube has been done so many times for charity as has the 275.
You could always go with going undergrounds suggestion and do a few smaller challenges in one day.

Somehow I don't think that the alternative challenges (Zone 1, and the like) really work as sponsored charity things. The way I see it, when you sponsor someone on a charity run, it's not really about whether or not the record gets broken (if it was, we wouldn't have raised an awful lot of money over the years...) but more about the dedication and endurance that it involves, and the fact that even getting around the network at all (or 99% of it...) requires plenty of effort, effort which is worth rewarding.
With the alternative challenges, breaking the record is the only notable challenging thing about it. Stripped of that, it becomes a bit trivial, and you might as well do "sponsor me to eat my breakfast" instead.
The other thing about alternative challenges is that they're utterly obscure to the other 99.99% of the population. Somehow I can't picture Terry Wogan on the radio enthusing about a bunch of nerds visiting all tube stations ending with the letter S in reverse alphabetical order
