I live in Rugby and regularly get Pendolino's between Rugby & Birmingham and Rugby & London. I fear my senses must be going completely mad if the trains don't tilt -- especially towards MKC. And I'm only 15

Friends, Romans, *********...lend me you ears!
for I was wondering one or two questions which you will probably all know:
1)Do we have to officially register for the Z1C on the 19th? Or is it just turn up at the starting point advertised above?
2)Will Queensway reopen in time? I would hate to have to do a passthrough as that just wouldn't feel the same

Ric,
Sadly, Queensway won't be open in time. Well, they said "Late May/Early June", which means mid-to-late June.

Took a pendolino recently on the Rugby Line- it tilts to around 30 degrees to the ground- quite scary at first..

Struggling to focus today...don't know why.

I think that's a massive over estimate, given that a black ski runs are around a 30degree angle!

Never ask for a hot chocolate on one of them, as they give you a full cup of hot water and a sachet of powder. Attempting to stir it in without spilling while the entire train is tilting is quite tricky.

30 degrees is a third of the way down from the vertical to the horizontal. If you roll an aircraft to thirty degrees, you'd be surprised at how far over you're tilting!
Maybe ten degrees... I know! Check Wikipedia!
For the Finnish Pendolinos:
Maximum tilting angle: 8°
Thirty is a little exuberant!

Right I know I'm a late entrant but Annie only just mentioned the Zone 1 Challenge on her blog!
I don't have any ideas about a route (and given how long it took me to work one up for last years full challenge...

I won't have time to think about it sufficiently between now and next Friday) so I would like to hook up with any team that will have me - I don't want to do it on my own
I'll bring bags of sweets as a bribe for anyone who's prepared to take me on though

Oh, and A2, I am also getting the train to Brum from Euston at 7:10pm so you won't be on your own
And something else - for the team that I join, please appreciate that I have *never* been to Kensington Olympia station, and I have no intention of visiting it next Friday... the tube has to retain some air of mystery for me

I'm actually looking forward to doing it on my own - makes a change.
