It's well worth visiting that area though. The DLR's a great change to the Tube and there are several sights to see down there. Greenwich Park and the observatory are lovely (alight at Cutty Sark), there's the Thames Barrier and its park, the City Airport is right there too for a spot of planespotting, and the Docklands is impressive to just walk around and be dwarfed by everything.

Crunchy's right, me and sven945 went for a wander around Silvertown in early Feb - got off at London City Airport, walked along the old line to North Woolwich (including accidently finding outselves on the disused Silvertown station) and I'll probably do so again on Sunday.
