How about a pancake race around Zone 1? You have to have a tossing session at every station.

I can also make Tuesday, but probably only an All Lines attepmt, depends on how work goes and how knackered I feel! I will watch the forum tomorrow to see what you chaps decide.

sounds ok to me, although the times i've been through waterloo (with it being my london terminal from down here), i can't say i've ever seen any clock of significance. i'm sure i'll see what you mean though. see you there!

Well a good (if tiring) little evening of challenging was had tonight, with 3 teams meeting under the clock at waterloo holding red baloons. myself, the other matt (scrxisi), and the dynamic duo of Antony (soupdragon) and Jamie (Dr Who) then parted again to have as many goes as possible at the the new 11 line All-Lines Challenge before the drain closed.

I'll let the others tell of their own evenings, but mine was spent getting fairly reasonable changes at all of the deep tube lines, but waiting lifetimes for Metropolitan and Waterloo & City trains. My first attempt started at Green Park and eventually ended at Tower Hill in a time of 1:02:35 after spending almost half an hour in the Liv Street/Aldgate area trying to find a Met train amongst loads of circle lines (never when you need them! ).

For attempt 2 i basically did the reverse route but this time starting at Aldgate East, and once again it was the Met that did me, with 7 minutes sat on a Met train at Aldgate waiting for it to get going. After waiting another 8or9 minutes for a trip down the drain, i eventually got to Green Park in a time of 54:02. A full 8 minutes faster on virtually the same route, with still 13 minutes of waiting that i can certainly reduce with more time to do it over. but the question is will that get me a record now?

hopefully will see a few more people in a couple of weeks?

scrxisi wrote:Sure :)

1. Matt Scrivin - 49:31
2. Antony & Jamie Brown - 50:42
3. Matt Nunn - 54:02
4. Matt Nunn - 1:02:35

Neither Antony and Jamie nor myself completed second runs. Though I did try ;)
don't bother putting my worst attempt on there though, jonny. i only really got a time for it out of coincidence while going to start a 2nd attempt.

This was my second attempt at the All Lines, the previous attempt on ELL closure day ended in dismal failure and was not completed.

As we had decided to meet at Waterloo, I thought it would be wise to do the drain first. The full route was as follows (time between changes):

Waterloo W&C
Bank NOR (2:15)
Moorgate MET (2:39)
Barbican CIR (2:40)
Farringdon H&C (2:05)
Kings X. PIC (3:59)
Holborn CEN (2:04)
Oxford C. VIC (0:36)
Green Pk. JUB (3:12)
Westminster DIS (6:19)
Embankment BAK (0:46)
Finished at Charing X
TOTAL TIME 50:42

Overall the challenge went very smoothly, we were very lucky with the MET/CIR/H&C connections and could not really have asked for much better, considering the total waiting time for all 3 lines was less than 7 minutes. At Kings Cross I made a bit of a cock-up because we were in carriage 1 and we should have been in carriage 6, which resulted in a slightly longer run. I don't think this error costs us anything (apart from energy) as there where plenty of passengers down on the Piccadilly line platform. A superb 36 second change at Oxford Circus from Central to Victoria had me thinking that would be on for a very good time. The next change was at Green Park and amazingly we ran into Matt Nunn (dudey) what are the chances, considering we started from completely different points! We said goodbye to Matt at Westminster and then had the agony of a 6 minute wait for the District line, this unfortunately scuppered what could have been a cracking time. In my ultimate wisdom I decided that 50:42 was a good enough time and decided not to go for a second run. I think on a good day a time of 45 minutes or less should be possible.
One day I shall return!

Scrxisi, thanks for posting the times. I notice on my site I have times for someone called "Matt Scrivens" and someone else called "Matt Scrivin". I assume that these are the same people and was wondering if someone could tell me what the correct version is?

Thanks
