Guten Morgen,

Even the official GWR thing allows restarts, as you yourself know Ric! (And as do I.)

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to this challenge, particularly if we can all start from the same station at the same time; it's always more amusing that way. I'm getting to Euston at 10:10am from Harrow though, and so I might not get to Woodside Park until 10:40am. Perhaps I can text you when I surface at Finchley Central.

Greetings Young Starkey and very pleased you will be joining us... :D

Ric in view of John's arrival at Euston would you mind if we kept the starting station as Woodside Park :?:

The other reason I like Woodside to start from is that is a bit of a pain to get up to and back down again, at least with Cannons Park you only have to double back a couple of stops to Wembley Park...
Your thoughts would be good please......... :)

and my fabled inability to run, is there any point me trying to make it for the unplanned 15?
(I don't particularly want to get stuck in London overnight)

Getting there isn't a problem as I break up from work at 12:30.
Greetings Andrew, it would be really good to see you again so I hope you can get down for this and it looks like you have a very good offer for B & B :D

The best thing would be if I PM you my mobile number (perhaps you do likewise) and I can hopefully give you an idea of how the teams are getting on with regard to completing the Park Challenge and meeting for the unplanned 15..... :P

Failing this if you fancy a challenge you could wait until the following day, on Saturday there are several challenges being planned to mark the closure of the ELL. Full details on the events for 22nd December will be posted very shortly.
OK Guys I will try and post something definite over the weekend, work has been pants this week :( :x

I only mentioned one B - are you providing the second B GU? ;)

And Woodside Park start should be fine actually, it's not much worse to drive to.

OK so Woodside it is and I don't have a route yet honest :(

Ric please let us have that Unplanned 15 starting station when known so we can start looking at planning the Park Challenge to at least finish in the vacinity.....

Oh and by the time we have finished all of this lot I will certainly provide Andrew with a McD's "B"

Straight after the park challenge I'm off to a gig at Welwyn, so I want to finish somewhere near King's Cross...

Afternoon all,

Looking at the timings for trains and things Saturday is even worse than Friday, so I'll come down on Friday.

Current plan (subject to change as all good plans are) is that I'll join you for the Unplanned 15 at 18:45 - at least the starting station is at one of the possible extremities rather than in the middle.

All being well, I'm going to try a Zone 1 starting around 14:40 at Euston (because thats where and when my train gets in) to fill in the afternoon and that should be enough time to get to Willesden Green in time :)

As Andrew is coming down from Birmingham for the evening challenge I think we need a contingency plan to ensure that he isn't waiting on his own at Willesden Green at 9pm while we are still attempting to complete the Park Challenge.........

I therefore propose the following;

1) Absolute latest time for meeting at Willeseden Green 19:15 hrs

2) Usual rules apply for Park Challenge, fastest to finish all stations is 1st etc., but if any teams are struggling to complete I propose a points system based on the zone locations.
For a station visited in Zone 6  6 points, Zone 5  5 points and so on.......Therefore the stations that are closely located within Z1 would only be worth 1 point each... Obviously the points system only comes into play should you NOT have time to complete...... :)

What are some previous times for the Park challenge? Because I think with James' route we'll still be going by that time :|

I think GU's points system is an excellent idea, but it will need a cut off time. I'd suggest that you have to visit the parks stations by 18:45 or they won't count for any points as:

1) 30 mins should be enough to get to WG if you have planned well
2)it'll encourage the parks contestants to start on time.
3)winning park time last year was 8 h 8 min, with a 30 min delay for Park Royal.
