Just wondering given that you didn't arrive/depart from Mill Hill East on a Northern line train what is the Guinness rule that would count it?

Also on my own FNC attempt, I had one pass through at Mansion House because the station was closed. What is the rule for that?

If the station is closed for the full day, a pass-through counts. However I think if the station reopens later in the day, you need to go back and pick it up.

Note that if only the platforms on one line at an interchange between Tube lines are shut, then you need to visit on one of the other lines.

AIUI if trains aren't even passing through the station, then it is acceptable to visit by replacement bus, or if no replacement bus service is provided, by service bus or on foot.

watching the video the train was there at mill hill east they took the decision to leave and run towards west finchley that would have been invalid despite them not even getting to 260 stations.

Difficult to see how you could do a pass through somewhere like MHE!

Is this really the case? I can't say that I recall ever seeing such wording or implication within the Guinness rules. Also, Adham's 272 challenge wasn't verified by Guinness, so we don't know whether it would have been considered valid or not.

My understanding was that Guinness had accepted Adham's route but rejected the time.

That was an enjoyable watch. You certainly did some mad runs - ones which I wouldn't attempt myself. Really glad that you had fun, despite all the adversities.

I asked my Guinness assessor and they just confirmed that terminal stations (end of a line) can also be visited on foot in the event of emergency closures/suspensions.

This is a good summary by my understanding: if trains are passing through then you have to do it that way. If not - either for long-term works or an unplanned emergency - then a visit by other public transport or on foot is allowed.

The branch was still officially closed when we left and there was no news of reopening. We checked the rules at the time but couldn't tell for sure if we were doing the right thing. Guinness have said it would have been ok but I don't know how consistent they are with rulings...

Well, I've just caught up with this. You're better runners than I am, for sure! I currently commute by doing the Northwick Park - Kenton run and I can only make that in 4 minutes on a good day (albeit in work shoes...) Kenton to Harrow and Wealdstone (1.3 miles) in 9 minutes? Take a bow, son!

Your luck of the day was dreadful and you should definitely give it another go. Secondly, there's lots of little refinements you can do. For instance, I'm extremely surprised you took a bus at Edgware rather than run to Canons Park, and loads of other things. Mind you, how lucky were you to do Olympia properly!? This is the one thing that's putting me off doing it again because having completed (albeit on the 270 version) there's not a huge amount of motivation to go again other than push for a record and thanks to lockdown I'm nowhere near fit enough now.

Basically your running was god tier and there's a record there if you want it, imo.
