I plan August 2009 as interchange at Bank/Monument is heavily restricted until then. I can press on with organising the event though as there is lots to do for it, do I need authority from tubeguru for this?
Excellent look forward to it, not much to organise really just a starting date and time and we normally go to the same venue afterwards..... No need to involve Mr Guru

I'll be too busy driving real trains anyway ...

I think you could have it way before then. You can get between Monument and all the other lines without leaving the station. Monument to Northern is easiest, Monument to Central you have to walk the entire length of the Northern Line platform but you can still do it. And then Monument to W&C you can do as well but is the longest as you have to either use the lifts or the escalators.

There may be other restrictions of movement around the complex at times though, so I am holding this off until the complex re-opens so we get a clear run via the DLR platforms. This also gives your more time for other challenges.

I'm pretty sure this is open all the time unless there is specific engineering work going on. Going through the DLR platforms in my opinion was just as long for Central and Northern (Northern I'd say longer) than going via the Northern Line platforms as you had to go down two escalators along the entire length of the DLR platforms then up two escalators. But I would agree this would be a tough challenge for people with alot of quick changes in succession!

It's slower to get to the Waterloo & City line though and the Northern line platforms are likely to be crowded. I also do not live near London and want to do this in the Summer, it's a long journey for me to and from London so I will be holding off this challenge until then.

Just to clarify, I interpret the conclusion of the preceding discussion as meaning that:
(1) I may "count" an interchange at Euston made by changing between the Charing Cross and Bank branches of the Northern Line;
(2) I may not "count" any interchange made by changing between opposite directions on the same line, other than between CX-Bank branches at Euston;
(3) I may not "count" any interchange made by changing between District/H&C/Met/Circle;
(4) I may subsequently make repeat interchanges at an already visited station if I wish;
(5) I may visit Zone 2 if I wish;
(5) I may not exit the LU system, irrespective of barriers existing or being open/closed;
(6) I infer that I may not use any means of transport other than foot or LU trains.
Please correct any misconception on my part!

You are correct although just to be clear about point 6, the use of elevators, escalators or travelators is allowed within station complexes.

Agreed that we should look at this again next year, we wouldn't want to do the challenge without the originator. Also gives me 10 months to train and get fit...

Is this the kind of training that involves lifting glasses of liquid to your mouth?

I think also that we should be allowed through the barriers either to make valid interchanges (e.g. Tube to sub-surface at King's Cross), or simply to use the toilets (which are usually outside the ticket barriers in Z1). I therefore advocate counting National Rail stations linked to Underground ones, and associated passageways, as part of the "station complex".

Yes, the only concern there would be people using a route via a NR station as a short cut for an interchange, I'm not sure this would be the case anywhere though.

It's not obvious (to me) that it shouldn't be allowed, for instance, to do something like Jubilee to W&C via Waterloo's concourse?
