Well spotted team mate. What made me think the record was 18 hr 43 min? In that case I hope our route has us finishing at T4 on the 23:56 train and therefore we will set a time of 18 hr 28 mins and smash the record by 7 minutes... easy peasy lemon squeezy
I think maybe you had the previous record of 18hrs 35mins and 43secs in mind and just confused the 43 mins /secs....
Don't think we will have time to get back to McD's for our supper though, we are gonna have to come up with a better route

Well spotted HÃ¥kan. You Swedes are so efficient. We shall of course be visiting Heathrow Terminals 1,2,3 after Heathrow Terminal 4. It's a pain in the neck, though, that the last train is so (relatively) early.
Kevin, you're absolutely right. We'll never make it back to Earls Court with this current route. I'm going to change a few things around, and I think that this will shave another ten minutes off our time; we might be looking at 17 hours 50 minutes or so. That means that we can take the last train back up to Earls Court, and hopefully catch McDonald's before it shuts.

Then we can jog home.
Jog Home??
I was planning on heading straight to Amersham to do it all over again on Saturday.....
Before anyone posts, yes I know some of the stations are closed at weekends...

Starkey7 wrote:Have you thought any more about getting to Amersham on the Friday morning, by the way?
I will be retiring to my bed at around 2100 hrs on Thursday...will then attempt to get up around 0330hrs on Friday
We will be getting to Amersham by car via Ruislip......how long to drive from Ruislip to Amersham at this god forsaken hour of the morning do you reckon young starkey?

Well, I've had a butcher's at the map, and I reckon that it's about fifteen miles. Given that it'll be at 5am, I don't reckon that it'll take more than half an hour from Ruislip to Amersham. Also, I'd estimate forty minutes for the drive from Hatton Cross to Ruislip, to be on the safe side. We should probably arrive at Amersham at about 5:10am, again to be on the safe side.
If you're going to bed at 9pm on the Thursday then you might want to go to bed at 10pm on the Wednesday, in order gently to get your body clock into the correct time zone!
Edit: I've just discovered that it's just about possible to run from Chesham to Amersham; it's only about two miles. I wonder if that'd lead to a better route...
Well there you go Kevin. Our resident statto delivers the goods once again! Thanks HÃ¥kan. I don't live too far from West Ruislip, probably a couple of miles. I can obviously walk/run to the most convenient pick up point, wherever we decide that to be.

lol, I admire your spirit
Breaking the World Record by a margin of 45 minutes and having time to get a McDonalds, what a great team we are!!! Obviously it looks like Dr Who's Tradis is going to come in very useful
Does anyone want to be a guinea pig for me and test out an Amersham-Heathrow route I came up with a while ago? I think it's quite good, very few changes and lots of flexibility.

We have a couple of roots penciled in but if you want to PM me I don't mind having a look at it and see how it compares
