On a rare occasion this morning I was up and listening to Chris Moyles on Radio 1 and they were talking about Sport Relief and revealed that 'Chappers and Dave' from there are doing a similar football ground related challenge. Over 8 days they're travelling to all 32 premiership clubs in England and Scotland and running a mile at each one around their pitch. Can't say i envy them, i'll stick to this i think...

just thought that might interest someone...

Kevin, so far I believe Andi (Mr Finland) & Steven Karahan have contacted a few clubs between them. If you can liaise with Andi & Steven to see who has been contacted so far. As you know I'm off to NZ tonight so will leave it with you to follow up on clubs that we still need to contact. Darren (fellow NZ employee) might also take part and if so he can contact Fulham for us.
Andi / Steven, can you please let me know when you have 5 mins......

Cheers Kevin

I haver spoken to the following clubs:

Tottenham- Were happy to allow us into the stadium
Charlton- Did not have anyone at the ground on the Saturday but had no problems with us taking pictures at the ground
Leyton Orient- Asked me to write in with request, haven't followed that up
Fulham (Had match on the Sunday)- Wouldn't allow us into the pitch as they'd be setting up for the match on Sunday and they are already doing something with Radio 1 on Friday for Sport Relief

You have got to love the response from Millwall..........

They would welcome us to come on that day but not after 12 noon. They have a London derby that afternoon with presentations, charity collections etc.
Our presence in an array of shirts would be an additional cause for concern.

I loved the last comment, as it is a cause for concern for us as well

Still confirmed for this and have even started to raise some cash, the whole purpose of this challenge, come on guys those that haven't signed up on teh Sport relief page should do so!

I have just bought an updated Tottenham shirt earlier today, so that's my kit sorted!

As for research on clubs, Millwall has a direct footpath link from South Bermondsey and I know the way from Barnet, Spurs and Leyton Orient to the respective stations/bus stops. So that is all taken of.

This is a Central line train to "Woodford via Hainault"- sadly, not no more!

As it's all about football, a game played between two teams, why don't you run this in two teams as well? You could have the reds and the blues, for example, and all dress up appropriately (although it seems you've already got your kit sorted) Your groups would still be large enough to have a laugh, but you would also have that extra competitive edge.

There was talk yesterday amongst the forum members that were in London about putting the start time back an hour......

Would this assist anyone who is planning to get to Barnet for start of the event?

We need to make a decision ASAP as Spurs are expecting us around 9am and we would need to find out if 10am would still be acceptable for them?

Also someone has asked me if we are going to include Wembley? I guess we could make a decision whether or not to throw this is on the day when we are leaving QPR for Watford?

The actual route detour to Wembley itself isn't really so much of a problem as the walk down Wembley Way

Ditto what Kevin just said, if people are struggling with 7am start please let me know. Ideally we want to do as much as possible in daylight which is why I originally decided on 7am. Having done a bit of research last night I think we might get around quicker than my original 12-13 hour estimate so maybe an 8am start would be OK?

In regards to Wembley I would say not to include it as we are only supposed to be visiting league grounds and the day will be long enough without making the task more difficult than it need be!
One day I shall return!

It's confusing to talk about putting a time "back" or "forward" - you should clarify whether you mean earlier or later.

Regarding your text message, Anthony, I won't be joining you. I have plans for this weekend. I only found out about this event in the last couple of days - if I'd known earlier (read: if I'd bothered to check the forums more) I probably would have squeezed it in. Sorry. I hope you have a great time :)
