Re: Trainblock
It seems to be a general rule that once trapped inside The Mouse you cannot leave. Other points to remember:
Tramlink appears to be an almost suicidal move.
The District splits the map in two - Heathrow is on the north side of this. There's only two lines which cross it, and the Southeastern High Speed doesn't have any connections south of the District within the map. The other crossing is from Charing Cross to Waterloo East - this is difficult to use as firstly an interchange with Piccadilly blocks it off, and secondly Waterloo is full of other lines to avoid.
The Southern lines have to be double and triple checked if you're moving around that area of the network. To some degree the Southeasterns have to be as well.
Question: Are Turnham Green, Barons Court and Gloucester Road interchanges? Because they aren't white circles.

The Mouse is that bit between the two branches of the Northern line, right? (You'll have to forgive me as I'm not a Tube Challenger.)
Certainly the fact that Bank/Monument is one station in Trainblock makes it harder to escape. However, I'm not sure if it's impossible - in that game I was scuppered because Thameslink has no interchange with the Central line, but if I'd been at (say) St Paul's I'd have had a valid move to Covent Garden or Russell Square. It certainly limits one's options though.
Never tried it!Other points to remember:

Good point. I think for the purposes of the game it might be best to treat each as two separate stations, so you'd have to specify Barons Court (Piccadilly) or Barons Court (District) for instance. Doesn't reflect reality but that's how it appears on the map.Question: Are Turnham Green, Barons Court and Gloucester Road interchanges? Because they aren't white circles.
Incidentally I never knew there were two separate stations called Bethnal Green!

Re: Trainblock
I think it would be better to treat them as "same track". Better as a stop - like St. James' Park or Imperial Wharf, than two different stations. I mean, Barons Court is a cross platform interchange! The District is closer to the Piccadilly than it is to itself!GuyBarry wrote:Good point. Re: Trainblock
Yes, if you prefer. I was trying to go by the layout of stations and lines as it appears on the map, since we're using the map as a game board rather than the physical reality. Either way round it needs clarifying - I'll amend the rules to take account of this. [Have done so now - a stop is indicated by one or more check marks on the map.]
Incidentally, you've got to be careful to specify which version of the map you're using. I was planning to start at Denmark Hill in an earlier game until I saw that it was marked as an interchange on the current version - it's a stop on the previous version!

Re: Trainblock
All games on this thread use the version linked to you in the first post (currently the current one). Should the map be updated in the future, we will continue to use it. If you change the link to a more modern version we will use that instead.

Yes - I've bookmarked it now. For the elimination of any confusion, it's this one:
